Emberlight 3.1.4

You’re getting a Prickly Pear! And YOU’RE getting a Prickly Pear! Edition

CHANGES AND TWEAKS

  • Critical Strikes now spray lots of gross blood and make gross sounds, just as the gods intended
  • Tweaked some Katars animations to be less bad. To be clear: they’re still kinda bad
  • The feat-teaching items for Barista (coffee), Wine Maker (ivy/grapes) and Sericulture (silkworms) have been added to the Surge loot tables on the Isle of Siptah:
    • Tale of the Goatherd will drop from Darari Cannibal and Darfari Manhunter surges
    • Leather Wrapped Book will drop from Hyborian Survivor surges
    • Curious Sack will drop from Lemurian Remnant surges
    • Due to the relative rarity of humanoid enemies in the Siptah map, the drop rate for these items has been increased on Siptah to ~5%. It remains unchanged in the Exiled Lands.
  • Curious Sack will now give the player 50 Grey-Lupin Seeds when used, in addition to the other items needed for Sericulture. We literally could not find any Grey Lupin flowers on Siptah, even after Alren climbed all the mountains and scaled all the cliffs to the very tippy-tops. So this will allow you to grow some in your gardens.
  • The Raiments of Set feat, which teaches the recipe to craft the Setite Choker variants, has been disabled.
    • There was a longstanding visual issue with these items that couldn’t be easily resolved after a few attempts. Armor and clothing variants such as this are an area of modding we ultimately decided not to commit to, so rather than continuing to put resources into this small handful of items, we’re going to retire them. However, they will still be available via admin-spawn and won’t be removed from your games; the feat simply will no longer be learnable

BUG FIXES

  • Howling Darkness will now display correctly in weapon racks
  • Savage Claws’ offhand claw will no longer be inverted when the character is falling
  • The following items have been brought up to date with the changes to temperature protection in the Isle of Siptah: Mountain Climbing Boots/Gloves, all Rugged Wraps, Iron Torch
  • Fixed some incorrect recipe and feat names

COMPATIBILITY

  • Emberlight’s harvest loot can now be obtained from plants and animals in the wild, regardless of what other mods are installed. This also means it will be much (MUCH) easier to add new harvest drops and adjust the rates for existing drops. So give us your feedback!
    • Further reading: Servers will experience this change differently depending on which other mods you have installed. Some of you may not notice a change at all. However, those of you running mods that modify the harvest loot tables (such as Age of Calamitous) will now see Emberlight drops such as Coniferous Seeds, Saplings and Prickly Pears drop from gathering nodes, whereas before you likely only were able to get those items from other sources

KNOWN ISSUES

  • We still have some work to do bringing all of our armors and weapons up to date with recent base game changes. Don’t @ us! (just kidding. You can @ us. We even have a Twitter account now)

Emberlight 3.1.3

You’re Gonna Love This New Prickly Pear Edition

CHANGES AND TWEAKS

  • Many Horticulture items have sexy new icons
  • The Wine Maker, Barista and Sericulture feats can now be purchased normally with Knowledge Points. They will continue to drop in the Exiled Lands and Siptah, and finding them as loot will enable players to bypass the level requirements of the Feats. Additionally, the items used to learn these feats (Vintner’s Journal, Tale of the Goat Herder, and Sericulture Field Manual, respectively) have been given clearer, expanded descriptions
  • Horticulture decorative placeables (trees, ivy, trellises, etc.) have been given an extra radial menu button called Style. Clicking this will launch the style GUI. Dr. Nash tried for two days to get the normal interaction button to work from the radial menu without breaking other stuff and THRJYYJTTHRGWRVWWEWEHHTTRRTHHTBFSWE$#$#$$%YHJTNRT

BUG FIXES

  • Vanity’s character preview should now work correctly question mark?
    • This was actually fixed in 3.1.2 but Dr. Nash forgot to put it in the changelog. 0/10 garbage modder
  • Howling Darkness and The Bitter End should now critically strike as intended. The damage from these critical strikes bypasses armor, and is different for each weapon

COMPATIBILITY

  • A Gilded Age will now be hidden by Fashionist when unequipped, to avoid looking dumb. Apologies to all of our users for whom a golden saucer sticking out of their shoulder blade turned out to be the secret sauce of their Conan Exiles experience

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Some Emberlight items still drop inconsistently on the Isle of Siptah. For instance, astute Emberlight users may have noticed that learning the Sericulture feat won’t get you the required Silkworms you need to create the habitat. Retooling some of our content for Siptah is an ongoing project, so please be patient and keep giving us your feedback!

Emberlight 3.1.2

The Festival of Unborkening: Isle of Siptah Edition

CHANGES AND TWEAKS

  • Infantry Spears (Dories, Covenant, Elder Shard, etc.) will now use the 2h spear mounted moveset
  • Emberlight weapons of Hardened Steel, Star Metal and Legendary tier can now be used as fodder at the Delving workstation.
  • A Gilded Age is now a cool buckler that attaches to the back of the hand instead of the arm

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed many broken materials. As a result of some of the fixes for this, you may notice that some things look slightly different now. Many materials needed to be rebuilt, and some changes were made in the process. But you might also not notice. Who knows!
  • Fixed mounted combat for Emberlight weapon types as well as base game types such as bows, etc.
  • Fixed an issue with weirdness regarding Infantry Spears and offhand throwing axes. Please understand that I tried to type this note in a more specific way several times, but it kept turning into word salad, so this is what you get

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Emberlight weapons with the Critical Hit property don’t actually critical hit. So lame, bruh
  • The feat-teacher items for Wine Maker, Barista (coffeeeeee), Sericulture and various other Emberlight-specific crafting items do not drop consistently in Siptah. We’re working on making all of these things available in the next update
  • There may still be some borken textures out there. BE VIGILANT, EXILES!

COMPATIBILITY

  • Chroma now supports SVS Extended Pillars building set

Update: Sep 15, 2020 @ 9:24am

  • Emberlight Vanity now lets players choose alternate, softer faces. Not available for all head types

  • Altered the appearance of Old Ironwood (shield) and A Gilded Age (shield) to utilize base game assets and reduce file size
  • Did some other housekeeping to reduce mod file size (~50mb in total)

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed Vanity GUI not opening if it was previously closed using ESC or the X button

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The vanity preview may look weird when playing on the Isle of Siptah map
  • Mounted combat is currently borken for modded weapon types
  • There may be many broken textures. Please report them to us with pictures

Tee Hee Hee >:3 Edition

CHANGES AND TWEAKS

  • The Furious buff from Savage Claws now grants 2 Strength per stack, and stacks 5 times rather than 10
  • Brought the colors of the Chroma GUIs (Paint, Mixer, etc.) in line with other parts of Emberlight. The green Horticulture deco panels will remain green, because we just think they’re so pretty.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where Horticulture decorative placeables (vines, trees, etc.) would fail to open their GUI on the first interaction

COMPATIBILITY

  • Fixed an issue with Chroma not correctly tinting Murayama roof pieces

OTHER THINGS WHICH ARE IMPORTANT

  • Listen up, admins. For those of you who have the /emberlight command enabled; whatever you do, don’t type “/emberlight WFP”
    • Just trust me. Do not do this.
    • And certainly don’t spawn the WFP item from the cheat menu
  • A bunch of animations are still borkened but Dr. Nash is so tired of animations. Please don’t make him do anymore. Plz.

CHANGES AND TWEAKS

Emberlight Claws and Katars Have Been Overhauled

The time of the shing and the snik is upon us, Emberlings. Long maligned for being sort of lame, Emberlight fist weapons have been overhauled and split into two separate weapon types:

Savage Claws

This weapon type now includes Steel Claws and Star Metal Claws, and will have legendary weapons soon. The basics of the moveset are as follows:

Light - A forward lunge for closing gaps quickly. This attack does mediocre damage, but cripples any enemy it hits and allows you to quickly follow up with…

Heavy - A 4-hit chain of strikes. The third and fourth hit apply Sunder. These strikes are completely covered by hyperarmor, making you extremely dangerous in close quarters

Offhand - Challenge your enemies, giving yourself the Challenger buff for 5 seconds. This buff has no effect on its own, but being struck while in this state gives you a stack of the Furious buff. Furious gives you +1 Strength per stack up to a maximum of +10. Furious lasts for 10 seconds and refreshes its duration each time you are struck

Katars

This weapon type now includes the Iron Crescents, Hardened Steel Katars and Tempered Katars, and will include new legendary weapons soon. The basics of the moveset are thus:

Light - Fast strikes and slashes that move you forward. These are nearly identical to the base game Dagger’s light attacks. The second and fourth attack in this chain apply Cripple

Heavy - Shank the living f%$@ out of your enemy with rapid thrusts. These attacks apply two stacks of bleed per successful hit, but leave you exposed to attack

Offhand - Perform a swift backstep similar to the old dodge animations. This backstep starts and recovers quickly, but cannot be used when knocked back or stunned, similar to the Daggers’ backflip

Overall

Our Katars ended up being an iteration of the Daggers moveset, while Savage Claws are really an attempt to throw out the manual and try something new. Please give us feedback about these weapons so we can find-tune them in future updates. In particular, the particle and sound effects we implemented for the Savage Claws self-buff are a new trick for us, so we’re eager to find out if these need tweaking before we use them on future weapons and character effects. Not that we’re planning any more awesome combat stuff.

Other boring tweaks or whatever

  • Clarified the item info on all Emberlight weapons & armor
  • The Vanity feat now has no prerequisites, requires the player only be level 1, and only costs 1 knowledge point. It is still found in the Survival tab of the Knowledge screen
  • Emberlight weapons have had their crafting times reduced
  • Level of Detail settings have been adjusted for many Horticulture items to help performance

BUG FIXES

Core
  • Fixed an issue where players could open the Emberlight Settings GUI from coin stacks, bar stacks, and coin piles

Homestead
  • Normalized relations between thralls and Emberlight pets. Pack it in boys, the war’s over

Chroma
  • Chroma settings can once again be saved in the Mod Settings screen
  • The Manage Themes GUI will now correctly update the “share this theme” string text in Single Player
  • Maybe fixed an issue that caused Chroma themes to fail to apply to buildings? Please give us feedback on this and let us know if it seems to be working
  • The “Add Painter” option has been removed from the radial menu when interacting with other players

Weapons & Armor
  • All Emberlight Legendary weapons will now award players the Acquire a Legendary Weapon journey step
  • Some typos on the Fur-Lined armor descriptions were corrected

Vanity
  • The character preview in all Vanity GUIs (for players and thralls) should now scale down when forced against other elements, rather than sliding over or behind them
  • Did a filthy gross hack to try and fix vanity warpaints not setting correctly on player login

COMPATIBILITY

  • Northern Timber Murayama added to Chroma
  • Black Iceblock Building Kit added to Chroma
  • Removed changes to base game Darfari Weapons items and feat
  • Savage Claws and Katars will now be hidden by Fashionist when sheathed

OTHER THINGS WHICH ARE IMPORTANT

  • There are, like, literally no new items
    • <_<
      • >_>
        • >:3

Update: Jun 3, 2020 @ 10:54am

3.0.6
Everything Old Is New Again Edition

The rollback has been rolled back! Changes and additions from 3.0.3 which disappeared have been restored!

CHANGES AND TWEAKS

  • Updated icons for several Homestead items
  • Spruced up the Chroma Paint GUI a bit
  • The Boil Cocoons recipe at the stove will now only give a single handful of insects instead of 10. We know what you were doing with those bugs and we are very disappointed in you

BUG FIXES

  • Decorative maps might be fixed? Give us feedback on this, please. They look fine in testing, but this is a bug that presents itself inconsistently, so who knows???

COMPATIBILITY

  • The theme selection widgets in the Chroma Mixer will no longer be turned blue by AoC

Update: May 30, 2020 @ 8:55am

3.0.5
Nothing Is Real And We Are All Living In a Holographic Simulation Generated By a Supercomputer Powered by a Dying Sun Distantly In the Future Slumbering Deeply As We Navigate the Depths of Our Collective Past to Find Some Meaning Before Time Runs Out and the Universe Is Perfectly Still and Perfectly Cold Forever Edition

  • I don't know what the heck was wrong, but I think I fixed it, question mark?
