Description
This one level demo contains a little taste of things to come: The first level of the Egypt episode of Ir-Kalla, roughly 25% of the episode, only a fraction of the whole campaign. It has one new area at the end to prevent the ending from being too abrupt. This level would be the eighth, so you already have a big starting arsenal and tougher opponents. Also, NETRICSA messages have been rewritten because you'd miss a ton of story context from previous levels.

Enemies (easy): 1332 (1441 with extra co-op enemies)

Co-op: Yes, full co-op support with checkpoints, locked door teleports and extra enemies!


Known problems
  • The 'long way up' top platform area has enemies falling down if you're not careful. I've tried to mitigate this by adding teleports back up once you reach the top, so feel free to jump down to a lower platform to mop up stragglers once you're done with the fight.
  • When you first enter the outside area a big wave of enemies will spawn. It's possible to start hitting the switches and activating even more enemies. Maybe don't do that if you don't fancy being overwhelmed.
  • The level was only tested on normal difficulty so the scripting will be disgustingly unbalanced on higher difficulties. Stick to normal mode unless you've got a full complement of players, eh?
  • I included a new Lava Gnaar texture, but the way SamRev organizes files it may not show up. Works fine in Classic, though.
  • Some elevators may display wonky or downright weird behavior in co-op. I have no idea what's going on or what I was thinking, sorry. This will be fixed for the full campaign version.


Notes
  • The full campaign has a multi-part Egypt level (this being the first), so to prevent an abrupt ending a new final yard has been added with a climactic fight.
  • Since this level takes place in the second half of the campaign the player already has a lot of weapons and fights beefier monsters.

Great map! Nice balanced fights, visuals are nice too. Final boss fight's great and balanced. Didn't have to use cheats in the map. Won't be talking about optimizations as map and Revolution works without any lags for half of the people playing it. Recommended overall!

The final arena was damn hard on Hard difficulty. Otherwise the map is really good

You're both very correct. I haven't properly playtested the demo on serious difficulty before I released it, and I only realized how bad it was afterwards. lt will get really unfair because it was designed more with co-op in mind, and I'm sorry for that.

I've been doing proper balancing and serious mode tweaking for the full campaign after the demo release, and I promised myself to release it only if I can finish it on serious mode myself.

When you are playing on a hard difficulty like that Master difficulty you mentioned then don't expect the map to be fair.

The map is amazing, absolutely gorgeous and all but that yard with 6 statues drove me crazy. After many many many tries I couldn't pass it (I was playing on Master difficulty), it just had too much shit going on. For the love of god, please give us a minigun just before that yard and delete all the harpies at least. It was just too unbalanced. Like I didn't even have the chance to pass the very FIRST wave of enemies even before pressing any of the switches. Other than that, I enjoyed playing your map very much and I hope you will improve it sometimes.

Hello there, I am still working on it. Though due to real life obligations I don't have the time I used to have for it. Right now I'd say the project is about two-thirds done.

Jar Of Flies using Tower of Babilon's theme doesnt fit in this since this is egypt theme
