Description:
Nuclear Winter should be added as a permanent game condition in the scenario editor. Not all biomes are balanced, I designed it to be used in ice/tundra biomes. Many of the maps you start on may not have decent enough cover nearby for you to even survive.

Nuclear Winter is like a Toxic Fallout, but accumulates in your system a lot more quickly and also penetrates constructed roof tiles.

At 35% radiation build up you'll be warned about serious medical condition. Going above 40% you start to run the risk of cancer and radiation damage to organs. The higher above 40%, the more lethal.

It also makes most of the plants and animals you find on the map extinct, leaving only insects, boomrats and boomalopes.

Nuclear Winter will also change the roof overlay, so that dark gray is overhead mountain (safe), light gray is thin rock roof (safe), pink is constructed roof (irradiating) and no roof is no color (irradiating).

I suggest using the mod NoMoreAutoroof with this mod. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1896930608

True, travelling the overworld does need some self imposed limitations =]

Awesome series and awsome mod!
thank you for making this as a steam release.
The only limitation that (i think) you have missed in the description is about travelling the overworld needs to have some sort of self imposed limits

apart from that, Most of the frequent questions can be answered by just watching the intro episode of the series ^.^

@Rhadamant I see. Thanks for your time for answering all these!

The mod changed over the course of the YouTube series.

@Rhadamant
Thanks for the answer. Sorry just one more question.
I watched the first ep of your series(seems like something I would be watching everyday before sleep from now on). And I notices that you said that you made an artificial rules of not living under constructed roof, so I am a bit confused if you changed anything since that ep. According to the episode, it sounds like living under constructed roof would also blocked the nuclear winter, but you made a rules for yourself to not do so, while this mods page is saying that it will penetrate the constructed roof. ( I am not only asking for knowing this mod, but also trying to figure out if it is ok for your pawns to actually get under constructed roof during the episode to get a better grip of the video.)

Mistletoe The Bard
1. It is only a permanent game condition
2. No
3. If you make a mod for it, sure
4. Only Boomalopes and Boomrats will naturally spawn. They are immune to the radiation. No other animals will spawn (other than maybe the occasional wandering Thrumbo / manhunters )
Sniperlink02 14. Jan. 2020 um 23:13
(mind you my information is from watching the author's series. only animals that spawned naturally were insects, boomrats/lopes aside from manhunting swarms of polar bears...

I have several questions after reading the description:

1. Does it only happen as permanent game condition? Can it be also an event like toxic fallout?

2. Is there any other way to stop the radiation other than living under natural spawned roof? (without other mods help)

3. What about with mods' help?

4. Does the animal simply just don't spawn during the game condition or they just die eventually after spawning? (Sorry this might sound like a stupid question, since I never seen any animal spawned during toxic fall out after everything died out, so I kind of expected this to work the same, but I don't really know how this part of the codes work.)

Thanks for making this mod, I like living under roof and no animals being on my map, so this might be a good solution for me to play on something other than ice sheet/extreme dessert.
