What is Compulsive Reloading Disorder(CRD)?
It's normal to check and reload your weapon. But if you suffer from compulsive reloading disorder, the thought of never having your magazine fully loaded is so excessive that it interferes with your game play. You can't seem to concentrate no matter what you do unless you have a full magazine. But have no fear! With my guide, you can break this reloading cycle and remove reloading urges whenever you accidentally shoot a bullet.

Types of Compulsive Reloading Disorder
There are several kinds of level of compulsivity such as,
Severe reloaders. If you suffer from this you will reload from just shooting once by mistake. You can't stand not having a full magazine. You are nearly beyond saving when you are at this level. Get a copy of counter strike or halo from your local doctor if you don't see improvements.
Mildly reloaders. People who suffer from this condition will find a constant need to reload after getting a kill. You will find yourself reloading after killing a special even if your magazine is 80% full.
Panic reloaders. People who suffer from this will find themselves spamming the reload key and constantly observing your ammo. You will constantly find yourself replacing your R key.
Paranoid reloaders. People who suffer from this will constantly reload every 5 minutes. You will find yourself pressing the reload key even if your magazine is already filled. The texture of your R key will usually appear rough or be completely wiped from the swear of your hands.

Sign and Symptons of a Compulsive Reloader
You or your friend might have compulsive reloading disorder if:
  • You swear, panic, feel unease whenever your ammo clip isn't full.
  • You have problems concentrating in game unless your ammo clip is fulll.
  • You keep a constant watch of your clip size whenever it drops below 90%.
  • Your mouth gets dry and you start to sweat a lot.
  • Your fingers become more tense the longer you last without reloading.
  • You swear and reload if you fire a shot by accident.
  • You reload if your ammo clip is above 80%.
  • You start grinding your teeth when you don't have a full ammo clip.
  • You find yourself reloading every 5 minutes without having a need.
  • You press reload key even though your ammo clip is full.
  • You panic and press the reloading key multiple times until your clip gets filled.
  • You go back to the start of the map to refill your ammo even though you can continue without it.
Causes
One of the reasons why people have compulsive reloading disorder is due to having a low capacity magazine. They feel as if they don't have enough rounds to carry on and therefore have to reload. People also fear that missing a bullet will cause them their life when in fact reloading leaves the player vulnerable for up to 5 seconds. It is also caused by thinking you are safe enough to reload even though your magazine is nearly full and you just end up getting caught and killed.
Treatment
Lucky for you, I have spent a considerable amount of time studying this illness and overcame it myself by doing the following.
  • Drugs. Take a lot of adrenaline shots so you can reload faster.
  • Understand that reloading takes 5 seconds. You have a higher probability being caught by a zombie when frequently reloading for 5 seconds than being killed for missing less than 5% of your ammo.
  • Concentrate on what's in front of you. What good is missing a couple of bullets if a charger charges you off a building and kills you?
  • Refocus your attention on the game. You always have secondary weapons that you can use whenever things get messy.
  • Predict when you will have an urge to reload and avoid it.
  • Change reloading key (R) to one far away from your left hand so that you will feel too lazy to reach that button unless you really have to.

Helping your friend overcome this
  • Avoid swearing at them for reloading after a smoker had killed you. Understand that they can't help it.
  • Don't stop them. They wont even if you try. Just let them know you care and share this guide.
  • Give constructive criticism. Tell them how hearing them yell out "REEELOAADING" every second is distracting and annoying.

Happy Reloading

After all, you don't always have time to check how many bullets are left in your clip, and you either have to chance having potentially a mostly empty clip when you need plenty of firepower (Hunter right behind you, Charger going straight at you at crack-speed, the Tank is two meters away and everyone else is ignoring him because they're all idiots) or just slap R and reload without looking. You don't lose the bullets left in your clip, so there's no reason not to.

Having a full magazine at all times can be a lifesaver. Nothing worse than getting the SPAS-15 out, taking aim at a Tank that's too close for comfort, firing twice and then finding that your clip's empty, getting backhanded into a corner/off a ledge/into a witch/etc. by Mr. Swole in the process.
