How to install the EXILE Mod / Exile Mod installieren [Tutorial]

In this guide I will show you how to download the exile mod.
In English and German.

Step 1 [Installing the mod / Mod installieren]:

Installing the mod
Go on the Arma 3 Steam Workshop and search for "ExileMod" from the author "Grim".
Press on "Subscribe" and the mod will download.

Rufe den Arma 3 Steam Workshop auf und suche nach dem Begriff "ExileMod" vom Autor "Grim".
Drücke beim Mod auf "Abonnieren", dadurch wird der Mod gedownloadet.

Step 2 [Launching Arma 3 / Arma 3 starten]:

After downloading, start the Arma 3 Launcher on Steam.
Now you're on the Launcher Dashboard or News (depends on how you set in the launcher options).

Nachdem du den Mod gedownloadet hast, startest du den Arma 3 Launcher auf Steam.
Nun bist du im Launcher Dashboard oder Neuigkeiten (hängt davon ab, wie du es in den Launcher Optionen eingestellt hast).

Step 3 [Loading the mod / Mod laden]:

Loading the mod
On the left side are six tabs: "Dashboard", "News", "DLC" and so on.
You need to press on "MODS", that will open your mods list. If it downloaded correctly, the ExileMod should be in the "Available mods" list on the bottom.
Load the Exile Mod by clicking the box beside the "ExileMod", now it will appear under "Loaded mods".

Auf der linken Seite sind sechs Tabs: "Dashboard", "Neuigkeiten", "DLC" und so weiter.
Dort musst du auf "MODS" drücken, danach wird sich deine Mod Liste öffnen. Sollte der Mod richtig installiert worden sein, siehst du den ExileMod unter der Liste "Verfügbare Mods" unten sein.
Lade den Exile Mod indem du auf der Box neben dem "ExileMod" drückst, danach wird er unter "Geladene Mods" angezeigt.

Step 4 [Start the game / Spiel starten]:

Start the game
Now press on "PLAY WITH MODS" and the game will start with the ExileMod.

German:

Spiel starten
Anschließend drückst du auf "SPIELEN MIT MODS", dadurch startet das Spiel mit dem ExileMod.

Hey. Is the mod loaded in the arma 3 launcher or is it missing in the launcher mods list?

If the mod is loaded in your arma launcher and the server is missing the mod:
Do you have the mod added in the server start parameters? If it's a rented server where you have a web interface to configure the server, the parameters would be at something like "Additionals Mods" or similiar.
Also, it's important to have the "Exile Server" files installed on the server, you can get them on the official ExileMod website (http://www.exilemod.com/) . You need to press on "Download Server Files".

HI . Thanks so much for the reply i appreciate it. I seem not to be able too connect to my rented server . It keeps telling me the mod is missing so i am not sure where i am supposed to put locally on my system.It is on the server i can see it through the ftp.

Hello Fritz Von Blitz,
it seems that the new version of A3Launcher uses the Steam Workshop to download the addon (as you would click on "subscribe" in the steam workshop). Because of that, there is no "mods" folder anymore.
The mod is automatically in the mods tab from the original Arma Launcher (Steam). There you need to load the mod, like all other arma mods.

If that doesnt work:
The Exile Mod is now avaible in the Steam Workshop (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1487484880) .


I made this guide before the workshop release, so now it is outdated. I will update it soon :)

I do not have a mods folder in my document folder. I have a arma 3 folder under my documents with no mods or addons in it. I have the mod selected on the A3 launcher and also in the arma 3 game launcher. And the mod wont work. I have arma 3 installed on a different drive than c: My mods show under steamapps/ workshop ? Where do i need to put what file?

Hello Jonah Hex,
you just need to drag and drop the "@EXILE" Folder in the Launcher (while you are in the Modlist) from ArmA 3. Then it should appear in the List.

I have Arma installed on another disc and exile wont work. Where do I put the addons? I have arma in "E:/steam/steamapps/common/arma3 and tried putting addons in a seperate folder under the arma3 folder.
