General Mod Fixes
By Wolfxe
This will be an expanded guide to fixing issues with ARMA, mainly for mod issues for various mod platforms including Withsix and ArmA 3 Sync. I hope this will help with mod support mainly for myself as standard text guides I have made are not easy to read so I would like to make it as easy to fix issues as possible. Any comments for improvements/missing parts would go a long way.

Introduction
Welcome to this guide and I hope it'll help out! I based this off various guides I've made on other sites, here's the site I've posted most my stuff on orginally http://www.7thrangers.com/index.php?/forum/6-arma-3-mod-issues/
Generic Arma issues
Alright so your game ain't launching and you're sad or maybe something else.

So first fix I'll recomend is to go to your parameters on vanilla ARMA launcher and under basic and on platform change to 32 bit, if you're already on 32 bit then switch to 64 bit. This'll fix launch issues often with mods and will let you on any server and is reliable. I strongly recomend doing this fix first.

Another fix is additional mods are ok but sometimes maybe your issue for some unknown reason, trust in the modpack you're given and expand on it at your own peril.

When you launch, wait up to 10 mins, do not click anything as it will not be happy and will whitescreen. However if it does whitescreen it'll probs fix itself. Restarting your whole PC is far better than just restarting your steam/ARMA, do not ever tell someone you restarted your PC when you didn't as that's such an easy and reliable fix.

If you're using many mods then check the Mod fixes part.
Finding Broken Mods
Sometimes you'll have a modlist and it won't work, maybe not even launch properly. It is important to know how to find these mods efficiently.

1. Ensure you do not have any duplicate mods such as CBA or ACE or you're unlikely to be able to launch.

2. Launch large mods like RHS and CUP or any map mods together first as these mods will be a pain to re-install.

3. Check 1 by 1 in combination with your mods (by adding 1 at a time) all you small mods to find the 1 which when added breaks it. If you are using WithSix you will almost have to check this through the ARMA 3 vanilla launcher. Once you find the mod then try re-installing, if this doesn't help get the mod from another site such as workshop or armaholic. If it still doesn't work then the collection itself is likely broken. Checking my generic fixes for Arma launching may also fix this though.

4. If you're in a milsim tell your server tech/mod support guy about the issue even if you resolved it. It'll be much help to them for others!

In my experience Shactac can suprisingly stop ARMA from launching if it's the non workshop version, just a heads up.
ArmA 3 Sync
This tool is amazing as it lets ease of access for normally large milsims or life servers.
However often there's issues with the launcher so here's some good things to do:

1. Ensure all your mods you WANT TO BE MODIFIED are added to the folder selection, if you have for example ACE3 in the selection it may change the version of ACE3 so if you have multiple ArmA 3 sync or armaholic ACE3 versions needed then u need to make sure that ArmA 3 Sync doesn't overwrite them by changing their location.

2. If you are using auto-config then all you need to do is paste it when u click add repositry, check the Host part if it's an IP to see if it's the same IP as it is in the auto-config as sometimes it isn't due to update issues, if it's not then manually change the IP, everything else should then work.

3. Launching through ArmA 3 sync launcher doesn't always work, to fix this I recomend to use the vanilla ARMA 3 launcher and manually add mods which may suck and take a while but will almost definatly fix the issue. Other launch issues see generic Arma issues.

To launch Arma in 64 bit, go to launcher options and at the bottom there is ArmA III Executable Location, on select find arma3_x64.exe in steamapps/common/Arma 3 if you want to go back then change it to arma3.exe

Of course you can change your parameters in this menue to increase fps, I strongly recomend no splash screen and defualt world empty.
WithSix
Alright, so I've used Play WithSix many times and had to fix it for many people. Although I've heard that Sync WithSix works, it's not reliable and so if you're having issues I strongly recomend you switch over to the reliable Play WithSix. The interface is slow and difficult but is the only alternative to the workshop.

Make sure you Play WithSix is up to date normally found in the top right hand corner as other wise it will spoute a ton of errors at you when you try and use/launch ARMA. This is fast so don't worry.

The only other main fix is re-install, first uninstall from Programs and Features in control pannel then you need to go to Users>[UserName]>AppData>Local and delete the folder PlayWithSix. After you are fine to install Play WithSix like normal.

I do recomend even if you use Play WithSix to update mods, get you mods that update regulary from steam workshop if you do not have WithSix premium, as you don't want to get shut out due to an update taking too long. Use the Vanilla ARMA launcher, I know it isn't good for organisation but it's the easiest to fix and can check important stuff like if the mod is signed and isn't so difficult to use.
ACE, ACEX and CBA
ACE

ACE3 is a wonderful mod but breaks non stop. I strongly recomend if you use ArmA 3 sync use the ARMA vanilla launcher as it will tell you if it's signed, unsigned or partially signed. Anything but signed will not let you on a server that runs it! What you need to do is delete your ACE3 and re-install it from ArmA 3 sync or if you HAVE TO then steam.

ACE3 sometimes doesn't have a retical thing when you press windows key, this can be a few things, first I recomend to restart your ARMA then launch and play singleplayer and see if it works there, if it does then your ACE3 just need to be the same version as the server which can normally be done with a re-install of ACE3, however even if it doesn't work in SP a re-install can't hurt. Restarting you PC can help with this issues for some reason so I would recommend that first if you have slow internet.

ACEX

Alright so this mod is for headless client and ACE sitting, if you see an error saying something to do with ACE sitting and you have ACEX then either you are not meant to have it so disable it or it's corrupt/out of date so re-install. If it says ACE sitting and you do not have it then you just need to install it.

I personally wouldn't recomend this mod unless you are serious about using it as it's 1 more thing that often breaks.

CBA3

Alright so if you ever have any ace issue I recomend you re-install CBA although not always needed. If you use a collection off withsix then you can download it through steam if you're having issues. CBA tends to cause issues when it's just been updated with ace so it is worth keeping a spare version incase of a sudden update.
RHS Ace compat
So if you're havingan error that comes up as you load in saying RHS Ace compat error or something along those lines don't worry. There are some possible fixes:

1. If neither the server nor you have this then there is no problem and it is not needed and will infact not let you on if you get it. If you can't get onto the server then the issue is elsewhere.

2. If the server has it and you don't then you will be kicked off until you get the mod, the steam workshop mod is almost definatly ok to use same with armaholic or withsix versions as it is not regualry updated.

3. If you have it and the server doesn't then you need to unload the mod! It won't let you on if you have it.
Taskforce Radio
All fixes I know for this

If you have a new version of Teamspeak 3 or the plugins you have been given don't work this link will download the newest compat plugins from github: https://github.com/michail-nikolaev/task-force-arma-3-radio/releases/download/0.9.12/task_force_radio_3.1Compat.ts3_plugin

To install just click saved, close you Teamspeak 3 client and double click on the downloaded file (or run as administrator if this doesn't work) and follow the instructions given there. Once done open you Teamspeak 3 client and go to plugins and enable the TaskForce Radio plugin.

If all is lost but you NEED to have TaskForce Radio then download this TS https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5RHM37Q5AZ3MW10VkNBbUpNM28 which is outdated to will destroy your bookmarks to be sure to copy them! All you will have to do is extract it and launch Teamspeak 3 through the folder, after that go to tools>options>plugins and enable TaskForce Radio.
Mods not being launchable/addable
Some mods, mainly old ones or found from odd places can't always be added to your ARMA launcher or other programs (check to see if there's an @ folder within, if not continue). This is normally because they aren't @[Name_Here] but maybe instead "Name Here", so first just change their name. Then make sure within the folder there is 1 called addons, this is important and if you just have PBOs inside your mod folder and nothing else then you'll need to make a folder called "addons" and move them into it. Once that is completed I gurantee you that it will be recognised by all ARMA launchers as a mod. However if the mod is currupt or incomplete it won't work still.

Using this technique you can extract PBOs from 1 mod eg. me taking the STALKER weapons out of the STALKER official mod the use as it's own mod, doing stuff like that can't be uploaded of course and is for personal use as it's otherwise against workshop/every guidline ever as it's stolen content even if you give recognition, only approval from the content owner matters.
CUP Maps (and other maps)
For many servers they allow out of date maps which is great for people who download maps from armaholic/ArmA 3 sync and don't want to keep redownloading. However it is known that some leaps in CUP terrians and other maps mean that when you spawn on a server with a different version you might be floating in the sea miles away from the coast. Other issues are that the terrians don't allign properly such as in Eseeker when I used to play exile. There a mate would drive us and on our screen it was through buildings or in the air and vice versa when I drove. This is why I strongly recomend you regulary update your map mods and try to only use them from the workshop.

For missing buildings there are a few issues, if you use Jbad buildings and CUP terrains with multiple maps I have noticed that on some errors begin to pile up resulting in many building types being all together missing. This can be fixed by having the latest versions of the mods required by if you try and not load too many maps at once it's a quicker fix. Maybe you're in a milsim that has 20 maps but only runs CUP ones and 1 other, temp disable the other maps if you're having these issues.

For mismatch on apparent same versions I have 1 main fix. Check in the vanilla launcher that all the mods involved are "signed", if they are "unsigned" or more likely "partially signed" then you have currupt mods so you will need to redownload all the not signed mods.

A small thing on load orders that everyone knows: CUP core should be ahead of the terrains that need it. If you don't it may run but errors will likely pile up that may increase lag/ decrease frames and that'll just suck. Don't be one of those "I don't care about load orders" guys.
Battle Eye
Battle Eye kicking you from a game will happen for number of reasons.

1. Admin kicked you, you'll normally get told this.

2. Mod mismatch, sometimes you'll get a glimse of the mod issue but often won't, if you click on the server it'll have the mods loaded at the bottome right, it's normal to have some red but if you can't get on make sure you update/re-install all the red ones if no other help is on hand. Spam Joining can result in temp bans on some servers!

If you're having issues with Battle-eye, some mods aren't compatable for one reason or another so if your server doesn't run it (which if a private milsim then it shouldn't!) then you can disable and just re-enable when you aren't running your mods.

If your battle eye is blocked via your PC then that's bad, first to do is re-start and see if that helps, then disable all you virus checkers and firewall and try again. (Don't forget to re-enable them) If it still doesn't work then a re-install of ARMA may be needed which'll suck so much but not much you can do. It's not even a definate fix.
Thanks!
This guide has been made up of my experience of milsim as a server tech for a medium size milsim (15-60) since July 2016 and previous ARMA stuff from before, I will be adding to it no matter if people read it as it's more for my personal use. However any notes on it wouldn't go amiss. I will be adding pictures in the tutorials and stuff when I have time.
Getting more help.
It isn't easy to get good support for games with mods and such forth.

Normally you have to watch a youtube video which is cringe worthy or pretty low quality and takes forever to get to the point. Searching google can result in fixes but normally you will be scrolling through pages of useless responses. I have always found the best support to come from communities or guides on steam, the steam guides can be really useful but sadly there aren't much there so they are limited in how much they can help you with. The communities tend to be good as most Arma ones have server techs or dedicated tech supports that will even Teamviewer your PC and fix your stuff.

As I have done tech support for a milsim for a while I would help people with mods or ask other people I know who can fix these issues to help them. I know this is true in general across life communities, milsim and even some exile ones. What I would recomend is if you can't fix your mods then join one of these and go ask for some support, normally they will be happy to as growing their community is at the forfront of their desires. Of course you can add me on steam and I'll have a crack at it if I have time.

Yeah what you can do is check all the mods that are fine, then save it. Then whatever is left as unloaded, load half of those.

I agree with you on that to an extent, when you're like me dealing with the same/similar modlists there's normally a few usual suspects which you want to check first so bunching the probably fine mods first then checking the others I found was a little faster. But for new modlists I agree with you.

I found that finding broking mods was easier by launching the game with half your mods checked and if it was corrupt then you know its that half and if it isnt then it's the other half. So on and so forth.

ACE or RHS has an addon folder with what you need to add to your addonns folder for your main arma 3. IF your using them together you will need it
