How to use
You can place your images and videos in the folder which is located at:

My Documents/Frontier Developments/Planet Coaster/UserMedia

Everything that you put into the 'UserMedia' folder will show up in-game

When you click on your placed billboard you see a drop down menu, where you can select if you want to play a video or a photo
Usable image and video formats
Image formats you can use:
.jpg
.bmp
.png
.tiff

Video formats you can use:
.webM

Aspect ratio
-Wide-screen billboards: 16:9 (Reccomended pixel size: 1920x1080)
-Square billboards: 1:1 (Recommended pixel size: 800x800)

Encoding
- You can use videos encoded with VP8 or VP9 codecs (we recommend VP8 as it is more efficient)
- Audio encoded with Vorbis or Opus codecs

Converting video files to WebM
Converting the video files to .WebM is needed to play videos on billboards.
This can be easily done on a website.
(although the video probably won't be of the best quality when using an online converter.)

Press here to go to the website[video.online-convert.com]

This is what you will get to see after clicking the link, here is some explanation with it.

When done, you can click on the convert button, just wait a few seconds and the file will start downloading. After the file is downloaded you can place it into the planet coaster file folder, which can be found earlier in this guide.

- As stated, you do not have to change the optional settings.
Extra information
- Videos will not work when game is sped up, they will only work in real time!
- Billboards can be linked as triggers, just like every other triggerable object in the game

- If you miss anything, or if you want to know something else? Then ask me in the comments, and if it's a good question, I will add it to the guide.

+Harag No problem! Thanks for the recommendation, the square billboards use a size of 1:1 Which basically means the same amount of pixels wide as pixels high. For example 800x800 pixels.

For the non-sqaure billboards you should use a aspect ratio of 16:9 which basically means for 1080p quality you should use 1920p wide and 1080p high (1920x1080)

Thanks for this, didn't know where to save the files - However can you please list recommended sizes for the images for the different billboards - the width / Height size rather than the aspect ration. I've not used them so not sure what size images I need to create.
