Whimsy the Cheerful Sunflower (Rework!)

This mod adds Whimsy to the list of playable characters.

Whimsy is a happy-go-lucky sunflower with a penchant for being disgustingly happy nearly all the time. She was born (read: grown) in The Constant, and it's all she's ever known, so she doesn't quite grasp the hostility of this world as much as the other survivors. Thankfully, it seems that most of the land's creatures tend to ignore her presence, with a few exceptions. After all, she's just an ordinary flower, right?

Here are Whimsy's stats:

Hunger: 150
Health: 75
Sanity: 200

PROS:
+ Photosynthesizes (Gains health and hunger points during the daytime above-ground)
+ Starts with her own Watering Can
+ Most creatures (with the exception of a few special ones and most bosses) are neutral to her and will not attack her unless provoked
(This includes Charlie herself!)
+ Players regain sanity simply from being around her due to her cheerful disposition
(Whimsy herself also has a small passive sanity regen)
+ Is slightly faster than most characters
+ Can fertilize herself to restore some hunger points depending on the type of fertilizer used
+ Can convert ordinary seeds into various specific crop seeds at the cost of 25 hp per seed
+ Can plant wild crops
+ Automatically tends to crops that are nearby her
+ Can tell what a crop needs without the help of a Gardeneer Hat
+ Can sometimes spawn butterflies from her head regardless of the season
+ Isn't bothered by teammates' ghosts
+ Doesn't lose sanity from being soaked
(Whimsy can still lose sanity from wearing wet clothing and freeze from being too wet)
+ Has a small bit of natural heat resistance

CONS:
- Is frail and weak
(Whimsy only does a single point of damage per unarmed hit: this can be improved slightly with weapons)
- Has to work harder than other characters to mine and chop
(-25% efficiency when mining and chopping, takes more swings to fell trees and mine boulders, etc.)
- Cannot eat food of any kind
(Whimsy can only photosynthesize and fertilize herself to restore hunger points)
- Takes three times the normal damage from fire
- Loses 5 sanity points from picking flowers
- Catcoons will often try to swat at her head

PERKS:
* Her flower attracts insects such as butterflies and bees

Tips for playing as Whimsy:

Whimsy is very much intended to be a support character, and not a fighter. With her pitiful single point of unarmed damage, the only thing you can reliably kill is butterflies (which you should be doing often to give to other players for health and hunger). She emits a very large passive sanity aura around her, which is perfect for helping out characters that are often held back by sanity penalties (Wolfgang, Wickerbottom and Wortox come to mind). It can often be beneficial for her to stay near other players while they're fighting sanity-draining bosses to help them negate the drain.

Whimsy also takes more actions to chop and mine than other characters, but she can still be a useful gatherer for the team. Her increased speed is great for scouting and gathering resources such as twigs and grass. Most creatures also tend to not acknowledge her presence, which can make her an invaluable asset (walking up to rabbits and dropping traps right on top of them, accompanying Webber players while they start spider wars, and sending her into dangerous situations to collect items where other players would be attacked on-sight).

Whimsy is a farming queen: she can plant seeds without a farm plot, tend to them automatically, and even convert her own health into specific crop seeds (which regenerates during the day). In addition, she can't actually eat, so any food that she manages to provide for the team will not go to her in any way, making her one less mouth to feed, and entirely self-sufficient. Make sure to plant any seeds you get to ensure food for your fellow survivors in the future. Just make sure you have some muscle around if the Lord of the Fruit Flies decides to invade your garden.

In the end, think of Whimsy as a utility Wormwood--she provides for the team by exchanging damage and the ability to create living logs for huge sanity-restoring power and generally getting most things done faster in general, as well as guaranteeing certain crops. Expect her to be near in fights, but not to partake in them. She's great at tending to bases and providing food for other players, all while not wasting food resources herself.

Closing Notes:

I appreciate all of the comments and feedback Whimsy has received over the years. I know that before her rework, she was a very different and quite a difficult character to play in some aspects. As time went on and I read all of the suggestions and criticisms left by the fans, I began to see that my vision for her, while unique, was indeed more limiting than it needed to be. When the Reap what you Sow update came along and added a farming rework, I couldn't think of a better time to finally give her the love she needed. Hopefully the changes introduced to her will keep her playstyle mostly in the same niche, while simultaneously adding more room to experiment with her and keep playing as her a fun and rewarding experience.
