Introduction to Largos

When choosing which Largos to use in your ranch, how they look is almost as important as which plorts they produce! This guide is intended to give ranchers a preview of how all types of Largos currently in game look, and also lists their food preferences. Each entry will also include my personal tips and any recommendations for each Largo combination.

Favorite Foods: Odd Onions and Briar Hens

Boom Hunter Largo

Favorite Foods: Roostros and Briar Hens

Tips and Tricks: Roostros can be hard to come by, so feed this slime Briar Hens. Or do what I tried once, and use their corral as a self-feeding coop! (I crammed it full of Roostros and Briar Hens, and the Boom Hunters never ate enough of the Roostros to stop breeding.)

Favorite Foods: Cuberries and Briar Hens

Tips and Tricks: These largos have a tendency to escape, because they like to fly around their corrals, and sometimes will explode in mid-air. Try and keep them in the Grotto to reduce slime losses.

Boom Rad Largo

Favorite Foods: Oca Oca and Briar Hens

Tips and Tricks: TBD

Boom Rock Largo

Favorite Foods: Briar Hens and Heart Beets

Tips and Tricks: Not much to say about these guys, except it is easier to feed them Heart Beets if you're dealing with a large number of Largos. If you have four or less, Briar Hens will be able to keep up with consumption.

Crystal Dervish Largo

Favorite Foods: Prickle Pear and Odd Onion

Tips and Tricks: Don't ever enter this corral unless you have either a death wish, or all of the health upgrades. These largos are very fast, unpredicable, and hurt.

Favorite Foods: Pink slimes eat anything, and saber slimes love meat, but neither has a favorite food. For a few days, saber slimes had Stony Hens as their favorite, but the publisher patched that out.

Tips and Tricks: With recent updates, this largo has gone from "almost impossible to keep alive" to an easy slime for ranchers of all levels of experience. I just make sure to keep these slimes well stocked wirh Cueberries, and their favorite toys. I also ranch them in the Grotto, because I don't even want to risk another die-off.

Tips and Tricks: These largos can and will grab food and plorts from any corral, coop or garden next to them. This can be used to make them self-feeding, or lead to disaster as a Tarr outbreak starts. I feed mine Heart Beets.

I made a guide with every Largo too, but I must say, your's is better. The #1 Slime stand thing is also a good way to display the Slimes, I never even thought of that.

Woah, thank you for this comprehensive guide! Also, turns out I *do* raise Quantum Hunters in the grassy wild place on my ranch, so...make of that what you will ||^^

Though from my experience, I've found my Boom Rads and Saber Dervishes to be the most chaotic. Mosaic Tangles can be pretty hard to deal with as well. Hence why the only slimes I keep them near atm are fire slimes; fire and puddle plorts can't be eaten as far as I'm aware. All the other largoes I have are no big deal with a fully upgraded corral(even when they're hungry); the chaotic ones should be most urgently fed :'P
