How to rush the Great Library

Welcome to my guide on how to build the great library! So to start off we need to know how to set up the game. I reccomend playing as Egypt if you want a quiet wonder building game but you can play as whatever you want, Egypt is just easier. So what is the Great Library? The Great Library is a useful early game wonder that grants you 1 free tech and gives you some useful early game science. So now that we are breifed lets go to making the library

Early Game

So you have selected your civ and are ready to start! What I reccomend to do first is to simply go into the tech tree and select the technology: writing. Then you can decide what to build, I reccomend a scout or a monument.

What to build.

While researching writing you should build some other things. I reccomend a scout then a monument. The monument will be key in getting an extra culture boost which will come in handy later in this guide. Then if you have time build a granary for the extra food to sustain you during the Great Library building.

Building the Great Library

This is the moment you have all been waiting for! After this the rest of this guide is just some misc stuff to help you build the Great Library faster. So after you have researched writing select the Great Library.

Then switch over your focus to production focus.

Now I heavily reccomend looking at the policy section of the guide as that will help you a ton.

Policies

Welcome to the policies section! This section will show what policies to get. I am assuming that you built a monument for some extra culture. The monument is important for most of the policies. Anywho lets go to the actual policies. First you want to get Liberty. Then you want to move on and get citizenship which will give you 1 worker. That worker is important because you can use him to chop down the forests near your city for some extra production.

Then if you still have time and have some extra culture, you should get Republic for some extra production.

Building a granary before writing is not always ideal. It sometimes may be better to build a worker instead of a granary, depending on how much forest there is to chop and how many production tiles there are to grow to. If you have nothing but jungle all around, growing to more jungle tiles will not help you build anything faster. But then again, if you have nothing but jungle all around, you probably shouldn't be rushing early wonders to begin with until you get your production figured out.

Also Tradition is better than Liberty in most cases (especially if you are playing tall) so I'm not sure if it is worth it to go Liberty just to support a Great Library rush, especially if you're going to take the free worker first and delay the settler policy.

Best to research calendar so when you get the free tech you can go straight to national collage and get even more of a tech bonus

tradition is actualy overpowered

Yeah but I prefer liberty, I think it's better in the long run. Though if I am playing a small civ like Venice then I will definitely go tradition.

the aristocracy policy in tradition give 15% more production to wonders it usualy shaves off a few turns off of the great library
