Star Wars: Escape From The Death Star

West End Games, 1990, 1-4 players

A cooperative board game (also playable solitaire) in which players take the roles of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa in an attempt to escape from the Empire's dreaded Death Star battle station by shutting down the tractor beam and getting to the Millennium Falcon. Color-keyed decks of cards generate encounters and obstacles, in the form of Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, and various hazards. The droids C-3P0 and R2-D2, as well as the Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, stand by to assist you.

This is the third of West End's 90s era Star Wars games, from a time when that company was more or less single-handedly keeping the Star Wars flame alive in the backwaters of geekdom.

This TTS mod owes thanks to other modders who have contributed various visual resources to make this product somewhat aesthetically appealing, and as always I'd like to shout out to Tumba for his awesomely useful dice trays.
