Description
A new Scripted Weapon that demolishes enemies!
The Blood Mage's Soul SWEP revolves around its single-target high damage output.

Maranzo's Ability SWEPs [MAS]: Blood Mage's Soul
Enjoy magic powers and spells perfect for a Mage / Wizard or for use in events.

NOTE: This Addon is part of a series of "[Ability SWEPs]"

Notable Features:

I. Control the flow of battle with almost overpowered abilities such as:
- Magic Bolt: Fire a bolt of magic energy at your target or Cast a selected ability.
- Lightning Bolt: Strike your target with a bolt of lightning that deals 50 damage.
- Magic Blast: Land an attack to concentrate magic energy around your target and blast them with it!
- Blood Curse: Land an attack to curse your target! While active, drain health and slow your target each hit.
- Ultimate: Calamity: Your thirst for blood manifests itself as everything around you is drained of its life.

II. Supports C_Arms
This means that the arms model changes with your playermodel! There are addons out there that let you change your arms into clone arms for clone playermodels in StarwarsRP for example.

III. Change your bindings from the option menu!
Open your spawn menu up, click on the Options tab at the top right, then under the blue "Ability Sweps" tab click on "MAS: Blood Mage's Soul" to set your new binds! You can also disable your hud, crosshair, and allow yourself to open/close menus while the SWEP is out.

IV. Admin & Super-Admin Options
Toggle such features as: Admin-Only SWEP spawning, Infinite Ultimate Charge, No Cooldowns!

V. Lag Compensation
Don't you hate that feeling when you hit something, see blood squirt out of it, and it doesn't take any damage? Well that's a hell of a lot rarer with this SWEP!

FAQ:

Q: My ultimate gives me a ton of charge back, is this an error?
A: No! Your ultimate can charge itself back up and will help you get large combo streaks as a reward for making it so far! The more enemies you hit, the larger the reward!

Q: Why can I only sometimes cast multiple abilities?
A: Most abilities prevent other abilities from being cast! You will need to find the right combination of abilities in order to get the desired effect. There are pro's and con's to using certain abilities earlier vs later.

Q: Why can't I open my spawn menu / context menu / flashlight with the SWEP out?
A: You can enable them from the Options menu! They are turned off initially to prevent overlap pressing the GMod binded keys with the ability binded keys, but if that's annoying you can enable the GMod binds again from the Tool Menu -> "Options" -> "Ability SWEPs" -> "MAS: Blood Mage's Soul" section.

As for synergy, all my SWEPs are designed to be able to counter one another in some way, without completely nullifying each other. All of the abilities in this SWEP synergize with countering Nuke-type characters that blast damage and rely on mobility. At the same time, if the abilities are on cooldown, the mage is a squishy target.

I see what you're saying, and I do not plan on changing this SWEP's diversity in attack styles. I designed it with the diversity in mind.

- Fists focus on dps. The knockback skill works well too for trying to shake enemies off of you after a successful combo.

- Kunai is more of a stealthy build. Low profile with hit and run tactics.

That's why it felt wrong when I finally spawned this swep after having to try the other two first.

Well that's about it. Maybe the ulti and RMB needs to be adjusted? It's up to you. I do hope you consider adjustments to this before moving to the next swep. Really like them lots. =3= b

I play with friends and we use it against SNPCs like the Vindictus ones out there. They seem to think the mage weapon needs some changes too. It's only our feedback though okay don't let it get into you.

What we noticed is the skillset doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't know if it wants dps, lifesteal, AoE, or crowd control.

RMB is for dps. Deals damage, no more other effects.
F-key is for crowd control. Knocks the target airborne for a second.
C-key activates lifesteal. Dealing damage heals the player.
and T-key is for AoE.

I'm no real expert into this but anyone can tell these doesn't look very synergistic. It could've focused on dealing lifesteal damage and keeping distance from the enemy at the same time. The same level of synergies is what I liked about the fist and the kunai.

As for them not synergizing well. I specifically disagree with that word choice. I say that the abilities work great together, but the effects and names do not correlate with the magic type. If I should include more mage SWEPs in the future, I expect to redesign this one with more appropriate ability names, icons, effects, and possibly how they actually function.

I don't disagree. The reason it's set up this way is because I have not devoloped other mage SWEPs yet, so I wanted this to be able to be applied more widely for RP servers ( eg. Kingdom & Medieval RP ) in the mean time. I am unsure if I will continue to make these SWEPs soon, but I do hope to do more in the future, so I may not redesign this.

This one needs to be redesigned don't you think? The skills doesn't synergize well with each other compared to the fist and kunai. Only this one I think, the other two are already perfect.

I mean it doesn't make sense how a blood magic user can suddenly fire a bolt of lightning...
It's quite confusing too if it's supposed to be for support, lifesteal, crowd control, or whatnot. Seems to be an awful mixture of all of these.

I like the sweps though don't get me wrong I just think it needs a redesign.
