Personally I'd prefer it if there were more unit types (like Axis & Allies), but it is what it is. Even though the tutorial scenario seems very easy, the bigger maps can be very challenging. I recommend you give the WW2 map a try.
The game is as simple as it looks, just two types of units, but there are much larger and more interesting maps than this. On the surface it seems very similar to their other game, Lux Delux, but that's basically a clone of Risk and this isn't.
The big difference is the simultaneous movement (WEGO rather than IGOUGO), which makes a huge difference to the strategy, along with the second unit type which can move two spaces in a turn. That may not sound like a big deal, but it is, it changes the character of the gameplay considerably. I much, much prefer this to Lux Delux and other Risk games. The WW2 map is a lot of fun.
