Mara Heavy Fighter

A heavy fighter taken from unused starsector sprites and converted.

After multiple reports of fighter ineffectiveness in escorts, a move to obtain a stronger and more capable escort ship was initiated by the independants. The SSC, seeking to decrease pirate incidents and maintain the stability of trade decided to fill that need.

The Mara heavy fighter exceeds the Rat in all aspects of manuverability, firepower and protection, and was the perfect canidate. Unfortunately it is out of the price range of many a trader, buying a wing of escorts was simply too pricy compared to the cargo they were hauling.
