Opening Words
Hello boys & girls, i decided to make this guide (yeah just one of many) because there are some tweaks that doesn't even make sense!

For some strange things happening in game you can't do anything about it, that's because of the netcode that is used by the game!

A youtuber called Battle(non)sense did make some pretty good videos about that:

He describes it really really good, better than i ever will so look his videos :)

And for all those who came in here for tipps and tricks: Please follow wackyjacky on youtube!

This guide i firstly written on the 9th. of May 2017 and will get updates in the future!
1. Launch Parameters
Go in to your Steam Library, right click on Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and hit Properties and than Set launch options

I personally don't use any launch-parameters, because i don't see a difference at all

From my experience, you'll get the best performance with:
-malloc=system -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
2. How to edit .INI files
You can edit your .INI files with your editor or the wordpad that comes with windows, but i prefer Notepad++[notepad-plus-plus.org]
3. Locate your .INI files
Press WIN+R and copy & paste this:
%localappdata%\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
and hit ENTER
4. FPS Cap
In my opinion, SmoothFPS>HighFPS, so if you have a different opinion, okay just skip it :)

Example for "FrameRateCap=70"

Your pc runs most of the time (90% or something like that) above 70fps but below 80fps so the best way is to cap your frames at 70fps, because that will give you a smooth experience

BUT if your pc runs 90% of the time 100+ fps and only dips sometimes below that... cap it at 100fps and so on, i hope you guys understand what i mean.
5. Optional In-Game Settings
I can't repeat it enough: Set your vault and jump keys to 2 seperate keys! This is so much better due to "no accidental vault"

You can set it up in game or you open up your GameUserSetting.ini and copy & paste this over your settings:
[ScalabilityGroups]
sg.ResolutionQuality=100.000000
sg.ViewDistanceQuality=4
sg.AntiAliasingQuality=4
sg.ShadowQuality=0
sg.PostProcessQuality=0
sg.TextureQuality=2
sg.EffectsQuality=2
sg.FoliageQuality=0

This sets your graphic settings to the following settings:

Disable Inventory Character Render, for me it's pretty comfortable because i experience no FPS in my inventory / while looting.

This is, for me, the best setting so far! Your setting could differ, but don't sway or blame anyone for playing with different settings!
6. Bad Tweaks & Launch options
Keep in mind don't use this tweaks in this part

Bad launchoptions:
-sm4
This gives you weird shine on the x4, x8 and so on!

Bad .INI Tweaks
r.EyeAdaptationQuality=0
r.DistanceFieldShadowing=0
These both makes your game pretty dark and probably you can't see very good in dark areas (i.e. inside houses)
7. Snakeoil tweak that doesn't effect performance on your pc at all
Keep in mind don't use this tweaks in this part too, this is only the example of a tweak that doesn't do anything if you select "max".
You can search on google what it does!

  1. Press WIN+R and type msconfig
  2. select "boot"
  3. advanced options
  4. numbers of cores, select max and hit okay

Updated it a little, but i don't integrate the frameratecap with e specified number, because the best settings for this are "per user only" every PC performs a little different from the other :)

Tweak guide is actually outdated, but my specs are following (short form):

i7 5820k @ 4.2 Ghz
GTX 980Ti
16GB ram
and only SSDs

What PC Do you even have?
mimizukari Aug 9, 2017 @ 11:33pm
@bennyhana why would that cause lag? doens't it kill things not visible so it increases performance? :|
Joolin #ClashGG Jul 18, 2017 @ 3:11am
such as TimeBetweenPurgingPendingKillObjects=30

causes lag spike of death every 30 seconds

A lot of these either...

1) Degrade visual quality without a boost to performance, or
2) Lowers Performance, or
3) Does nothing
