Easy FIX: How to get your PUBG to start up

This guide solves the problem were PUBG won't show up when starting the game/crashing right after startup.
All you have to do is download the missing files from Microsoft's support page

How to fix your game if your game won't pop up

So this guide is for the peoples that can't start their game up, some of you might not even get the game to pop up. Nada. I haven't been affected by this myself, but I do have a friend who got himself into this. Not sure if it will work for all of you peeps, but this worked things out for my bro.

If you start the game exe.-file (Steam/steamapps/common/PUBG/TsIGame/Binaries/Win64/TsIGame) "TsIGame.exe" from the installation folder in the Steam directory an error message appeared saying that some files were missing which lead to the game terminating/crashing right after.

The error message should say something like: "The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
If it does, this guide is for you.


Step 1
The files that are missing can be achieved by downloading and installing the Windows 10 SDK from: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/windows-10-sdk
Either you install it using the exe.-file or an ISO depending on what you prefer.
The Windows 10 SDK should work even if you don't have Win 10 installed. It supports:
-Windows 10
-Windows 8.1
-Windows 7



Step 2
You can also download and install the update for the Universal C Runtime: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows
Open the link and then scroll down to method 2 and pick the installation that belongs to your operative system. My friend has Win 8.1 so he downloaded that one. If you have an earlier version pick that one :)


Install both these and you should have the missing files. Make sure to restart your computer after installing. If you've followed these instructions the game should now be playable.

Im running on 8.1 pro 64bit processor and downloaded the 8.1 x64 one but still get the error lol
