Description

The mod balances the cost of Unity to allow the player a feeling of weight in their choice of traditions.

Some players didn’t like that you could finish all the traditions by 130 -150 yrs into the game.

This Mod solves this-
Now you will finish 5 tradition trees by the 200 yr. Now you must decide which traditions to take and when ultimately leading to a more different experience per game.
Estimated that you will complete all 7 Tradition trees in 260 yrs.


update 5/21/2017- made changes to ai weight for certain unity buildings so they will build them more often and help keep them in pace with the players




Compatibility

Created uunityplus_buildings.txt
with the changes to the unty building's ai weight - will be compatable as long as these certain buildings weren't touched by others mods. List of buildings

building_temple,
building_hypercomms_forum,
building_heritage_site,
building_autochthon_monument,
building_holotemple,
building_citadel_of_faith.

All changes were done to the _defines.txt file

Mod should be compatible with any mod that doesn’t alter these lines in the _defines.txt file




Made changes for 1.6

Below are the changes


TRADITION_COST_TRADITION = 10 ( changed from 11 )

TRADITION_COST_TRADITION_EXP = 1.5

TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_COLONIES = 0.33 ( changed from 0.40)
# Each Planet adds +X% Tradition cost

TRADITION_COST_MULT_TRADITION_GROUP = 0.08 ( changed from 0.04 )

TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_POPS = 7
# Each Pop adds +X Tradition cost

TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_SLAVES = 0.50
# Each Slave adds +X% to num pops mult

TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_SENTIENT_ROBOTS = 1.00
# Each Sentient Robot adds +X% to num pops mult
TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_XENOS = 1.00
# Each Xeno Pop adds +X% to num pops mult

TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_XENO_SLAVES = 0.50
# Each Xeno Slave adds +X% to num pops mult

Basically now. ai_weight = { weight = 10000 }

Made some changes since there are so many mods that add new tradtions.

I'm working on a NEW Unity Cost Rebalnced Mod - for the use with the merged tradtion mod.

Just updated- changes to defines.txt - made changes to help get the Ai to focus on building more Unity.
Also edit - building_temple, building_hypercomms_forum, building_heritage_site, building_autochthon_monument, building_holotemple, building_citadel_of_faith. Basically now... ai_weight = { weight = 10000 }
Made a new uunityplus_buildings.txt file to allow better compatability

Made changes to the mod for better balance with the new 1.6 unty value changes. I lower TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_POPS to 7 (orginally was 8) . Also TRADITION_COST_MULT_NUM_COLONIES = 0.40 (orginally was 0.10)

Let me know if anyone is finding themself not hitting about 5 full tradition trees completed by around 200 yr mark.

I lowered the multi num tradition group cost since the mod is target for those with vanilla and players who have mods that add new traditions to the game. Want you to be able to jump around a few if you want.

Updated to version 1.6 . I might need to tweak the values since 1.6 does remove and alter some unity building values. Will look at making any changes to keep it balanced. This will happen over the weekend.

@PalmettoJedi4 - Yes its compatible with Plentiful Traditions :-)
Thats one of the mods i use all the time in my playthroughs.

Any added Tradition mods are great to use with my Unity Cost Rebalance mod.

I would also suggest using these mods as well
