How to make an icon for your taunt

Required:
Gimp
TF2
Luck

Install GIMP

Here's a link to install: https://www.gimp.org/
After that, open it up and download my tauntbase.xcf file. (next section)

Open up "tauntbase.xcf" and Export it

Before you do anything, download this file:

Then open the file in GIMP, and export it as a .tga file (File->Export). Don't edit it just yet.
Now locate the file (should be in your documents), and open it in TF2.
Now, all you do is in this video (note this is my second YT channel, just TF2):

Now if it allows you to press finish, it worked, but DON'T click it yet.

The Hardest Part

Before you make your icon, follow these simple rules

• Keep your image inside the white area, don't draw on the gray checkered part (or transparent)*
  
• Keep it TF2 looking
  
• Make it unique (not like a bunch of scribbles)
  
• Keep it at it's current size*
  
• Don't edit the outer grey checkered border*

*Failure to follow these rules will break the image

Finishing Your Work

Export as a .tga

NAME THE FILE SOMETHING LIKE taunticon.tga OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT FROM YOUR TAUNT BASE FILE NAME

**Failure to do so will result in you probably messing up. However I do understand some people understand computers a lot, like me.
Time to go back into TF2.

Import the Image, Verify, and Finish!

Now, go back to where you can upload an backpack icon.
Find your .tga file with the taunt picture.
Fill in the rest of the boxes.
Verify.
Finish!
