Hello, and welcome to another installment in the Unturned Weapon Overview series. Today, we are taking a look at one of Unturned's most unused weapons, the Vonya. This shotgun varient weapon has a real-life counterpart roughly based on the infamous Saiga-12. A Russian made shotgun that never got to see the light of war and, instead, is commonly used by law enforcement around the world. In-game, this weapon has two firing modes: Semi-automatic and Full-automatic. Unfortantly, the firerate on this shotgun is too poor to consider full-automatic as a good option, with a base firerate of 183 rounds per minute. Adaptive chambering is more of an insult to your shotgun, only upping the firerate to 188 rpm. However, in the off chance you are in a face-off with the Vonya, the fraction of seconds quicker may actually save you in a losing battle. The damage is nothing to complain about though. Hitting the body, you should achieve about 35 damage per hit, do note that you spraying 6 small pellets towards your target per shot. With that, hitting the head can be a great investment, boosting that damage to 42 per hit. Yet, when dealing with a shotgun, you must deal with all of it's flaws as well. With a range of only 17.5 meters, shorter than a Yuri, you will need to be well within punching range in order to get any critical hits or one shot kills. Trying to engage anywhere other than point-blank, you will quickly see that, as with most shotguns, accuracy is poor. Recoil is also very high in full-auto, unleashing a kick that would scare off the boogyman himself. Investing into attachments might save you a little pain, yet the maintenance on this weapon and it's magazine rarity might not be worth it. But, if your a stubborn one, then you should immediately invest into a tactical laser for the tactical slot, giving the ability to narrow the large spread of pellets. Pair that with a vertical grip for your grip slot, and you might just have a shotgun worth using. There is no need for sights, because as with most close range weapons, using third person is the easiest way to go about aiming.

Overall, a shotgun found is a shotgun earned. However, in the end, you need to assure you can earn the respect of death if you plan on using this weapon 24/7.

The Vonya is a Saiga-12K to be specific.
