A guide to make the ZOMBIE GENOCIDEST and THE LITTLEST GENOCIDE achievements less frustrating to obtain.

Intro

This guide is made for those of you who want to 100% the game, but are too lazy or have any other reasons, to obtain the ZOMBIE GENOCIDEST and THE LITTLEST GENOCIDE achievements the way they were meant to be obtained.

That being said, this guide does not involve any kind of cheating, only a slight abuse of the game mechanics and a flaw in the design of a specific map.

The idea

As the two achievements this guide is about require you to farm an incredibly high amount of kills, the best way to accomplish that task would be to find a spot with infinite zombies, no special infected and a reliable way to kill them without running out of ammo and receiving damage.

This guide will provide you with all of that, explaining in detail how to maximize your results.

Enabling the Developer Console

For the purposes of this guide you need to enable the developer console. To accomplish this task you need to go to the main menu of the game, click on OPTIONS and select KEYBOARD/MOUSE.



Once the menu is open, navigate to ALLOW DEVELOPER CONSOLE and change it to ENABLED.



When you are finished with that, you will be able to access the developer console by pressing the ~ key on your keyboard (which in most cases is located in the top left corner of the keyboard, right below the Esc key).

Now lets familiarize ourselves with the commands that will be used in this guide.

• +attack2 - enables you to perform your secondary attack (in the case of Left 4 Dead that would be the shove action) in a loop permamently. To stop this command use -attack2
  
• +duck - puts your character in a permament crouch mode. To stop this command use -duck
  
• kick - removes a specified player or character from the game. Example: kick Louis - this would remove the player/character named Louis.

The Setup

Start a single player game on Crash Course, select the second chapter The Truck Depot Finale and remember to select the Easy difficulty.



And proceed through the campaign as usual until you reach the final area with the generator. You might want to pick up a pipe bomb and some pills along the way, if you plan on finishing this campaign.

Once you reach the generator start it and prepare to figth the two hordes with two tanks, after each of the horde.



While fighting these hordes you might want to find the spot for farming and practice getting onto it.



After you fight the two hordes and two tanks the power will go out and you will be prompted to restart the generator. DO NOT DO THAT! At this point no special infected will spawn and the infinite loop of regular infected hordes will start. Now you need to get onto the spot and prepare to type in the console commands.


Now that you have gotten yourself onto the spot, open the console by pressing the ~ key and type in these commands:

• +attack2
  
• +duck
  
• kick Bill
  
• kick Zoey
  
• kick Francis

(change the bot names after the kick command if you are playing as someone other than the ultimate zombie slayer - Louis)



Now close the console and start swinging. Note that you will have to adjust the angle until you melee every zombie that tries climbing on, so that you receive no damage. Once that is complete you can just Alt-Tab and do whatever you want while you get the kills.

The Results

Now remember that pipe bomb you collected and those lovely pain pills? Use the pipe bomb to lure the zombies away, pop the pills and restart the generator. Clear out the remaining zombies and the truck will lower and you can escape. This will allow you to see the amazing results, take a screenshot and show off to your friends.

Guys, you want to get rid of all special infected, when you're ready to farm kills just use this console command 'mp_gamemode versus' to switch it to versus mode. No more special infected for you, because they must be controlled by actual players in versus mode.

November 2024 update:
I've found this strategy still works very well although specials are an issue and no commands here work. However, i have found a command that now kicks all specials.

type the command bind v "kick Boomer; kick (1)Boomer; kick Hunter; kick (1)Hunter; kick Smoker; kick (1)Smoker; kick Tank; kick (1)Tank; kick (2)Tank; kick (3)Tank"

Keep in mind you do not have to bind this command to v, this is just my choice, you may bind any key that isnt already binded to a specific action.

This command will kick specials and although you have to constantly press it while you farm, it does work and has given me over 10k kills in a single day.

I have 2 methods for dealing with special infecteds while following this guide's steps

method 1 (vanilla but half afk)
* open console
* type "bind v kick_inf_sp_all" without quotes (you can replace v with any other key you want)
* press v (or the key you decided to bind) whenever a special infected spawns

method 2 (requires an addon but full afk)
* download this: https://www.gamemaps.com/details/21786
* install the .vpk file in your ".../left 4 dead/left4dead/addons" folder like any other addon/map
* open console
* type "exec kickloop_readme" without quotes
* press v

the addon in method 2 does the same thing as method 1 command but automatically

the thing is, the cheat only give you achievement on steam not in the game, so truly number of earned achievements is still in-game

literally no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ if you have an achievement or not. When you know you can just load up cheat engine and give it to yourself in two seconds.

As someone who got my degree (these achievements) honestly 10 years ago, all you have to do is move slowly through each map, and take your time. As opposed to the usual lab rat in a maze approach used by most people, racing to the end and devil take the hindmost. (The BIGGEST reason I don't multiplayer this game anymore.) But hey, console it and PRETEND you are a bad ass! YOU will know the truth...
