Mirage and how to play her
By YuukaW
Mirage is slightly different than Nix, not only because of the difference in weaponry, but in performing her in combat, combos, and her signatures. I took the time to practice her bit by bit, and now this guide is born. I took a look down the comment section of the previous guide I made (Nix and how to play her) and someone requested that I should make a Mirage guide.

Unlike Nix, Mirage is made to be a bit more aggresive and risking things for a bountiful reward of high damage. She also is very tricky when it comes to signatures, because she will bury herself to the ground and then jump out to crush you. It's painful, but she can always be stopped. So, let's take a look at the Dune Weaver, while discussing her abilities.

The Basics
The very idea of Nix is to play slightly more carefully, take what you can get, and then run, while trying to perform as many good combos as you can. As for Mirage, you can easily chase other characters, especially with her signatures, not to mention that she does have a scythe and a spear, which are two of the most popular weapons currently. The spear is very devastating with someone who had quite a bit of training, especially when you're going to use some of the more complicated combos, so eat your veggies!

Strengths
She has impressive power with both spears and scythes, allowing her to both keep a steady range, and perform near-unstoppable combos, making her an extremely powerful trump card to play.

weaknesses
The great power that Mirage has can still be easily countered when playing against a player who plays mostly in a safe format, because of how punishable some of her signatures are, especilally her side signatures, not to mention that she can be fairly squishy.

While she lacks a slight bit of defense, which is a bit of a stand back for her, making her quite squishy. However, she thrives in dealing damage with excellent combos, and performing some quick attacks, making her quite light attack reliant. You can also utilize some combos with signatures, if you want to.

Scythe Signatures
As I've mentioned in my Nix guide, the Scythe has two different Slights and Dlights. Slight-1 is where you let go of the directional button, and Slight-2 is where you hold left or right. Same principle is for Dlight, where letting go is Dlight-1 and holding left or right is Dlight-2. Take a look at my recent guide to get a better understanding of it.

Here are some of the signatures Mirage has at her disposal. Take a good look, and I'll give some info on these signatures.

Mirage's Nsig is where she will strike the sky diagonally above her, causing her to grapple on the target, creating a sand clone of her, and then striking once more. This combo can take a bit of used to, if you move on from Nix to Mirage. This has a shorter range than Nix's Nsig, so be careful. Use the Slight-1 for a healthy amount of damage.

Mirage's Ssig is where she buries herself into the ground and then she strikes after 35 fps. Remember that she is not invulnerable while dashing in the ground.

Mirage's Dsig is where she flurishes around her, in all directions. This has no movement capabilities, which means this will be quite useless in combat, especially in Brawlhalla. However, if the target is where you're standing, and you can't reach them, then this could be a good call.
Spear Signatures
These are the spear signatures. As I've said before, the spear has devastating light combos, making her signatures pretty much unnecesary, but for the finishing blow. These are some of the signatures, and explanations about them.

Mirage's Nsig causes her to bury and move forward, launching 3 spears, where at the end, she leaps out. This is pretty tough to use, because Mirage will dash forward, starting from the place she's standing, and the distance she travels isn't always the best, but it is tough to avoid, and cannot be easily countered.

Mirage's Ssig causes her to leap into the air, and then strike down one location with magically summoned spears, in this case, two other spears. Note that she leaps so high that she avoids one huge part in her leap.

Mirage's Dsig will cause her to erupt a multitude of spears from the ground around her. Just like the Scythe Dsig, it's better to use this if your opponent is too close for you to attack regularly.
Complicated combos
The weapon combos are pretty straightforward, but some can be very complicated. I'll teach you a handful of combos that are tough to master but deals excellent damage for both spear and Scythe.

All damage has been tested equally to the targets defense (7 damage vs 7 defense)

Spear:

Classic combo:
Slight, Dlight, Sair/Nair
Damage: 46/48
Dodge Frames: 0-5
Notes: There is a more complicated version of this combo, where you Nairdodge and then perform Dlight once more, and then proceeding to Sair/Nair. You can also ignore the Sair/Nair altogether, but that will reduce the damage by 16/18

Scythe:

Mega opener:
Slight-2, Dlight-2, Slight-1, Nsig
Damage: 69.75
Dodge Frames: 2-10
Notes: This is one of the very complicated combos to perform with the scythe, especially when it comes to Mirage. You can also utilize this combo with Nix, but you will have to Nlight after the Slight-1. Take a lot of practice bouts with this combo. If the target is above 70 (orange), then remove Slight-2 from the combo, because the knockback will be a lot stronger when

Other opener:
Slight-2,Dlight-2, Slight-2, Dlight-1, Nsig
Damage:87.75
Dodge Frames: 5-12
Notes: This opener has a higher amount of dodge frames, because they are easily able to dodge the Nsig in this combo. However, the damage is very rewarding when you can handle it.
Additional Combos
This section is somewhat your part. If you guys can figure out some signatures from mirage, then you are free to write it in the comments, and share it wih all of us. Thank you once again!

Quick Opener:
Slight-1, Nlight, Jump, Nair
Damage:37.00
Dodge Window:0-2
Notes: The dodge chance on this is unbelieveably low, that it could be considered a TRUE combo if you perform it quickly and accurately. You should note that you can steer an adversary off the ledge while you use the Nair.

submission by Lunar. Thank you very much for the submission!
The end
I thank you for taking the time on reading this guide. This one took me a few hours to complete and fully write, play-test, and understand Mirage. Hopefully, you'll have a lot of fun trying to practice her, and you should always experiment with different fighting styles and combos while playing complicated characters, because I've only shown you the tiniest peek to a dynamic character.

Hopefully, you have made some use of this guide. So, then. Good luck, and try to have a bit of fun.

Can you add Slight-1, Nlight-1, Jump, Nair
Dodge frame: 2 (On Nix 2-3)
Works all the way from 0% to 60%
Also you can switch direction of the opponent with the Nair into a Dair while falling or Sair while flying towards them after you tossed them up but dodge frame goes up to 10-15
