lol, we always have this kind of discussions in our little FSN community on another site, I sure didn't expect to see one here on steam
About Gilgamesh, even after all these years, I still don't know exactly what to think of him; one part of me hates him, another part respects him. He's a complicated character I guess... that's why many people like him.

Agree! Lancer was totally one of my favourite character both in VN and Anime and obv i watched CP, poor lancer xD, about your Gil opinion, i respect it and, just like you said you were not surprised so many like him im not surprised so many don't like him, he's a douche, that's true xD

All in all he is a great and interesting character, many people actually like him, so I'm not surprised you do too) Also I really like his voice actor, who gave his voice to Daru fom S;G and Chiaki from Nodame Cantabile, such different character but he voiced'em perfectly. But for my taste Gil is too much of a douche, I like Lancer from F/SN, saved MC's in two routes and actually an awesome and bada$$ character. If you watched Carnival Phantasm you should respect him as well, Final Dead Lancer for the win))

I agreed about the fact that if he had one more live berserker prolly would have smashed Gil, but im not totally sure c.c

Actually if im not mistaking he can use every noble phantasm in his room of treasure but he's lazy af and just throws them(he defines it a bad habit), the only noble phantasm that he uses is the EA ones, enuma elish; he can't replicate the side effects(like the infallibility of gae bolgh), but he can use every weapons powers, that's why Shirou said that he doesn't master them. About Hercules, since Gil is an arrogant bastard sometimes(95% :P) he underestimated his opponent and let his guard down a bit( but never totally) but not only with hercules, he actually does it with every enemy, so yea , his weak point is his ego afterall. About being a warrior, he fought
continuously with Enkidu without use gate of babylon so he's not totally unexperienced he's just arrogant.

You may have the point, but we both know - he can't fight. All he can do is to fire dem golden swords and trash-talk his opponents) I don't judje him only by the anime, all Servants in Fate have their own awesome backstories, that's true, but he just can't fight, man, he can't, that means some of his backstories are just a myth or not belong to Fate's version of Gil) Berserker broke the chains of heaven, if he had just 1 more live to spare - he'd smashed an overconfident Gil imo.

He was also a warrior,just like his backstory tells us, Shirou said that cuz he needed some cool sentence to finish the fight with his ex+++ noble PLOT phantasm of friendship and love in order to beat gilgamesh :P, consider that Gil is the one who started the era of heroes, don't consider or judge him just by the anime, i suggest you to read his backstory, imo one of the best in the fate universe. About Hercules, idk he probably said it in order to make the fight more interesting, he was more interested in having fun than fight at his max power c.c

Hercules had a chance if he'd left Illya unprotected, even Gil himself mentioned that, but he decided to protect Illya until the end. I don't like Gil, he's cool and all, but he's a King, not a warrior)

Yea but afterall, even Nasu himself admitted that Gil is(one of) the strongest hero(es) in the lore, Hercules had no chance at all, rip Illya also :V
