Rue de la Ferronnerie west Wing

Description
(Same as Ferronnerie East wing, but mirrored)

A row of houses from "la rue de la ferronnerie" in the old centre of Paris.
This building is the western part of a 3-parts recreation of the long building. It was constructed between 1669 and 1678 and still stands today. The front looks over a narrow street and the arches lead to an open and busy square.

At the time stood the cemetery of the Holy Innocents (oldest cemetery in Paris, dismantled just before the French Revolution). The houses have been built atop one of the charnel houses that ran along the cemetery's enclosure. It's arcades are the only remaining vestiges of the burial grounds along with the fountain that now stands in the center of the square.

Those are some very good points Darf, however from a Parisian perspective the devil is in the detail. Almost every single Arrondissement has its own distinct charm. From the Marais to Ménilmontant whilst also mentioning Odéon, Saint-Germain, Bastille, Pigalle, Convention, Place d'Italie, Belleville and Oberkampf, the architectural style varies due to historical factors (the Marais being the birth place of Paris and therefore beholds more narrow and pre-18th Century architecture) but also economic, whereby the Grand Boulevard Haussmannien contrast sharply with more gruesome buildings in popular/industrial areas (La Goutte d'Or being the arch-typical example). Obviously though, as you mentioned given the lack of French/Parisian modders this all seems quite alienating.

Hmm, well few reasons: It's a beautifull city,but quite monotone. The whole center consists of 5-6 story rowbuildings in beaux arts style. There is no progression in story height for making a theme. So only one style, little older or newer parts. German architecture is more varied and due to the cities being bombed more in ww2 has more variation in styles and colors. Some of the european themes look quite similar to parisian beaux arts buildings, but parisian beaux art is less colorfull.

Dutch and flemish style is quite unique and has a lot of variation in color and height. There's also a lot of Beaux arts buildings in Dutch and flemish cities. Still my favorite style. :)

You can find every sort of style in the US and due to the skyscraperboom in unique sizes and in everything from 2 stories to 50 story skyscrapers. On every corner in NYC you can find a little treasure.

Not many french modders either. :)

@NoirMoutton : thanks :)
I wonder why Paris has so little representation. It may appear more complicated to model than other buildings. Or there may simply be a lack of interest from the modding community ?
