Call of Chernobyl / Anomaly Mod [ENG + RUS] - Enabling Steam Overlay + Playtime Tracking + Screenshots (v1.3)

Enabling the Steam Overlay, playtime tracking and the ability to take screenshots for the standalone mods 'Call of Chernobyl' and 'Anomaly' on Steam.

Guide - Call of Chernobyl

For people who want this to work for Call Of Chernobyl, do the following:

• 1. Install the Steam version of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat" from your Steam Library.
  
  
• 2. Download and install the latest version of 'Call of Chernobyl' from the ModDB page: http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/downloads
  
  Note: If patches for the mod are available, download the latest version from the same link provided above and install it after installing the base version of the mod. For example, as of now, install 'Call of Chernobyl 1.4.12 [Full Release]' followed by 'Call of Chernobyl 1.4.22 [Patch]'. The term "install" in this case means opening the archive(s) and dragging/unzipping the contents to wherever you want on your computer, like My Desktop or My Documents. For patches, drag/unzip their contents where you originally unzipped the base version of the mod. A message may pop up asking if you want to overwrite files, and if so, say yes.
  
  
  
  
• 3. Go to where you installed/unzipped/dragged the mod and open its folder (ie. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl)
  
  
• 4. Rename the .exe file 'Stalker-CoC' to 'Stalker-CoP' (without the quotation marks). Everything should look like this now:
  
  
  
  NOTE: Ignore the JSGME folder present in the screenshot as it is for my installed addons for the mod, so you should NOT see it there when you are doing these steps for the first time. Apologies for any confusion.
  
  
• 5. Go to Steam Library > Installed > S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
  
  
• 6. Right-click 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat' and select 'Properties'.
  
  
• 7. Select the 'Local Files' tab, followed by 'Browse local files...'.
  
  
  
  Alternatively, Steps 5-7 can be done by simply going to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat (or wherever you installed the vanilla game)
  
  
  
  
• 8. Delete all the contents of the folder, but not the folder itself. The folder should already be called "Stalker Call of Pripyat".
  
  
• 9. Copy/cut all the contents of the mod (from where you installed/unzipped/dragged it in Step 2) into the "Stalker Call of Pripyat" folder found in Step 7, while making sure the .exe file of the mod you renamed earlier in Step 4 is still 'Stalker-CoP'.
  
  
• 10. Run 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat' on Steam, and voilà! You just tricked Steam in thinking you are running 'Call of Pripyat' when in fact you are running the 'Call of Chernobyl' mod, now with Steam Overlay and playtime tracking enabled!
  
  

Guide - Anomaly

For people who want this to work for the latest version of Anomaly (1.5 Beta 3 Update 4 Hotfix 8 or newer), do the following:

1. Install the Steam version of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat" from your Steam Library.

2. Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat (or wherever you installed the vanilla game).

3. Delete all the contents of the folder, but not the folder itself. The folder should already be called "Stalker Call of Pripyat".

4. Download the latest version of Anomaly: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o907mk3Y--2HCt5OO-gp9RnmhkNAGh2X/view.

5. Unzip the contents to the folder in Step 2.

6. Go inside the bin folder.

7. If you are using DirectX11, rename 'AnomalyDX11AVX' to 'xrengine'.



Note: If you want to use DirectX10 rendering, rename the executable file that has DirectX10AX in the name. Likewise for any other DirectX.

8. Copy the renamed executable file, alsoft.ini.bak and soft_oai.dll from the same bin folder to the main folder of the game (i.e. the one from Step 2).

9. In the main folder, make a second copy of xrengine and rename it Stalker-CoP. The main folder should now look this with the 4 highlighted files:



Note: I have not tested if we require both renamed copies in the main folder, but I added them like this just to be sure everything works. Please ignore any of the extra files and/or folders in the screenshot because they are part of my mods and addons.

Note 2: The reason for moving or copying alsoft.ini.bak and soft_oai.dll into the main folder is because they are the audio profiles of the game and need to be in the same folder with the executable file. Otherwise the game fails to launch

10. Run 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat' on Steam, and voilà! You just tricked Steam in thinking you are running 'Call of Pripyat' when in fact you are running the 'Anomaly' mod, now with Steam Overlay, screenshots and playtime tracking enabled!

Call of Chernobyl [НА РУССКОМ]

Чтобы установить модификацию, повторяйте за мной:

1. Устанавливаем Steam версию «S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat» из вашей Библиотеки Steam.

2. Скачиваем и устанавливаем последнюю версию «Call of Chernobyl» с сайта ModDB: http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/downloads

Обратите внимание: Если доступны патчи более новой, нежели сам мод, версии, скачайте их по ссылке выше и установите поверх раннее установленного мода. Например, на момент написания рук-ва, актуальная версия мода - 1.4.12 [Full Release], патча - 1.4.22 [Patch]. После установки(*) мода (1.4.12 [Full Release]), я установлю(*) и сам патч (1.4.22 [Patch]).

(*) - под "установкой" подразумевается разархивирование содержимого архива с модом в любую удобную для вас папку. В случае с патчем, вы должны будете разархивировать его в папку с модом, соглашаясь на замену файлов.



3. Открываем папку, которую вы разархивировали (по умолчанию "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl")

4. Переименовываем исполняемый файл игры "Stalker-CoP.exe" в "Stalker-CoC.exe" (с учетом верхнего и нижнего регистра)



5. Идем в Библиотека Steam > Установленные > S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

6. Кликаем правой кнопкой мыши по "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat" и нажимаем "Свойства".

7. Выбираем вкладку "Локальные файлы" и нажимаем "Посмотреть локальные файлы".



Также, вы можете попасть в корень игры, перейдя по ссылке (по умолчанию) ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat

8. Удаляем содержимое папки \Stalker Call of Pripyat\ (саму папку не трогать и не удалять!)

9. Из папки, в которую вы установили/разархивировали мод, перетягиваем всё содержимое в папку, из которой мы только что удалили содержимое оригинальной игры (смотреть 7 пункт). Также, убедитесь, что папка, в которую мы перетягиваем содержимое, по-прежнему называется Stalker Call of Pripyat (смотреть 8 пункт), а исполняемый файл - по-прежнему называется Stalker-CoP.exe (смотреть 4 пункт)

10. Теперь просто запускаем S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat через Steam и voilà! Вы просто обманули Steam, теперь он думает, что вы запускаете 'Call of Pripyat', хотя на самом деле запускается 'Call of Chernobyl'. Теперь у вас есть полностью рабочий и функциональный Steam Оверлей!

Anomaly [НА РУССКОМ]

Для тех, кто хочет установить последнюю версию Anomaly (1.5 Beta 3 Update 4 Hotfix 8) - делаем следующее:

1. Устанавливаем Steam версию «S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat» из вашей Библиотеки Steam.

2. Идем в C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat (или в Вашу корневую папку игры).

5. Распаковываем содержимое архива в корневую папку игры (из шага н.2).

6. Открываем папку 'bin' (\Stalker Call of Pripyat\bin).

7. Если вы используете DirectX11, переименовываем 'AnomalyDX11AVX' в 'xrengine'.



Примечание: Если вы по какой-то причине хотите использовать DirectX10, переименуйте исполняемый файл, в имени которого содержится DirectX11AX. Точно так же проделайте для всех остальных версий DirectX.

8. Скопируйте переименованный исполняемый файл, alsoft.ini.bak и soft_oai.dll из папки bin в корневую папку игры (из шага н.2).

9. В корневой папке, сделайте копию файла xrengine и переименуйте его в Stalker-CoP. В корневой папке должны быть эти 4 файла (см. скриншот ниже).



Примечание: Я не проверял, нужны ли нам обе переименованных копии в корневой папке, но, на всякий случай, я добавил их туда, чтоб исключить возможные ошибки и убедиться, что все работает.
Так же не обращайте внимание на лишние файлы и папки на моем скриншоте - это установленные у меня моды и аддоны.

Примечание 2: Причина перемещения или копирования alsoft.ini.bak и soft_oai.dll в корневую папку заключается в том, что они являются звуковыми профилями игры и должны находиться в той же папке, что и исполняемый файл игры. В противном случае, игра попросту не запустится.

10. Теперь просто запускаем S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat через Steam и voilà! Вы просто обманули Steam, теперь он думает, что вы запускаете 'Call of Pripyat', хотя на самом деле запускается 'Anomaly'. Теперь у вас есть полностью рабочий и функциональный Steam Оверлей!

This works thanks for your efforts ... but there are no mods on moddb for this. I wanted to track my play time only.
