E-F RT/O-915 Gearboxes & Diffs

NOTE: This mod is intended for MANUAL shifters only, it is NOT suitable for automatic shifting and additionally requires an appropriately configured shifter layout ('gearbox_layout_<layoutID>.sii') file to work correctly with the manual shifter - available via this Google Drive shared link[drive.google.com].

This mod includes the RT & RTO xx915 versatile 15 speed (10 Highway + 5 Deep Reduction) transmission with & without retarders for all fourteen vanilla trucks in a range of the following differential ratio choices:
Differences between RT & RTO 915 gearboxes: The RTO 915 is an overdrive box (0.79 output ratio) while the RT 915 is a direct (1:1 output ratio) drive box. The RT is also a higher ratio box overall making it better suited to offroad/heavy haul applications.

Higher ratios mean lower gearing which means more torque at a given transmission input speed for better load handling, the trade-off being higher engine RPM at a given road speed and so lower fuel economy.

If you want to save fuel running lighter (default) loads, choose lower ratios. If you like hauling heavier loads (as available from mods) and want better load handling from your truck, choose higher ratios.

The transmissions are named in-game as:

"Eaton Fuller RT 915 - fury6"
"Eaton Fuller RTO 915 - fury6"

&

"Eaton Fuller RT 915R"
"Eaton Fuller RTO 915R"
(for retarder versions)

The gear labels in-game will show as:

These are for gears, respectively: Deep Reduction - Reverse, Reverse - Low-range, Reverse - High-range, Deep Reduction - 1 through 5, 1 through 5 in low-range and 6 through 10 in high-range.

Game v1.6.2.1 changes how gear selector layout files are handled in-game. The old profile layouts will no longer show in the shifter layout dropdown list. The layouts have been updated for compliance and the relevant Discussions Tab pinned thread (labelled: Support: Suitable For Manual Shift ONLY) has been updated with the new Google Drive link.

Ok, so the latest update was to try to get the gear names to show properly in the vanilla dashboard displays - FAIL. Looks like this is just not going to work without an edit to lengthen the gearname field in the display definition. At present, some 3 digit gearnames will be short enough to display (why on Earth is the type not fixed width?) while others won't - Direct Reduction 2, 4 & 5 will only show 'DR' in the display.

Gear names have changed again. Using the convention "Ln" to designate the deep-reduction forward gears and "LR" for deep-reduction reverse for now.

Have noticed an error in the labelling of the highway reverse gears. The high and low range reverse gear labeling is, ironically enough, reversed, heh. Will be corrected at next update.[fixed]
