Brooding Mawlek
By Conkmeister
So I recently just got Hollow Kight and I love this game! Anyway, The side boss, Brooding Mawlek in the Forgotten Crossroads was pretty tough for me to defeat. After defeating the beast I looked online to see what other people have done. My conclusions were that I encountered the boss too early. Having only had access to the Dirtmound and Forgotten Crossroads at the time. The reason for this seems to me that many have not figured out a little trick you can use in this game. You can use a downward aerial attack to bounce your character off of spikes. If the attacks are timed correctly you can keep yourself from dying and "bounce" to a safe location. Has anyone else used this awesome feature? I used this trick to bounce the character up the wall spikes in the corridor leading to the boss. Please let me know what other hidden mechanics you have found.

While yes, this is a cool feature, this isn't a guide, but more of a comment. Not helpful

Nail-jumping (or "nail-pogo") is a good feature, and some parkouring challenges require mastering it. And some enemies are helpless when you nail-pogo them. But some have great AoE attacks, and some can just jump quickly and touch you, so be careful!

I unfortunately did this too. A tip for anyone wanting to try it early game.. don't. When you lose to the boss (and you probably will), your shade spawns up by the boss, and you have to maneuver the spikes again without dying to get your shade, or you lose all your geo. Just wait for double jump lol.

A blog post is not a guide.
