How to... RENAME YOUR CHARACTERS!

A Quick and Simple video guide teaching aspiring virtual street brawlers on how to rename their characters.

Intro and Basics

River City Ransom Underground, the newest installment in the River City / Kunio-Kun series, has a wide array of characters to chose from for your street-brawling entertainment.

Another neat feature returning from the previous titles is the ability to give your character a unique color pallet and, more importantly, a unique name.

The accompanying video will go over the basic steps for changing your favorite character's name to nearly anything you want, within a 6-text-character limit, but still quite enough for extra fun.

In-Depth Instructions

Firstly, notice how you have to be on the startup screen, right after the file select. That's a vital step. You can only change your name at this point, and not during the game. However, you -can- change your pallete, or "skin" in-game.

Don't worry if you're already in-game, just save, exit out to the main menu, select your file again, and follow the steps in the video to not only find the skin selections but also the rename option.

In case you're wondering, pressing Left once when "OK!" is displayed should show a "Reset" option. Be careful with that one, I'm not sure if it resets the name and palette or the whole character!

Pressing Left once more allow you to access at least the Skin select, from which you can press A or (CONFIRM) to cycle through different colors.

Pressing Left again will get you to the Rename option, which when you press A or (Confirm), will take you to a Rename screen. As the video shows, you have a LOT of text characters to choose from!

Bear in mind there's only 6 spaces for your character's name. Short and simple works best.

if you're into some multiplayer gaming, with this tutorial you may be able to learn how to name up your characters to your liking and avoid confusion between other players.
