Synthetic Farm Legit [Fastest way]
De Blade Master
Hello.

This is a guide for anyone looking for easy Synthetic farm, as well as the other buggy materials but Synthetic especially, the most important material for crafting buggy parts, without much of an effort in a tricky way that is the fastest one I believe.

As we all know, getting Synthetic in the most reliable way is done by looting military outposts, however there's an easier and faster way, although this may be extremely boring, very lazy and may even be considered as a cheating by some so I wouldn't recommend doing it in excess.

The trader NPC location and how to unlock it

You'll encounter the trader NPC named Jacob Greaves in the side mission called Buggy Grail where Bilal asks you to loot the Silas truck. This mission should be available pretty early in the game when you meet Bilal.
Video Demonstration
What to do...
1. Go to the NPC and see whether he sells Synthetic as a daily deal or not, at day time.

If he doesn't sell Synthetic. there's a bed inside the nearby small white trailer, sleep twice and see if he sells it. You may have to sleep a maximum of either 6 days to see the Synthetic or 10 days if you're really unlucky, but no more than that.

If he sells Synthetic, obviously buy it. And then what you wanna do next is, sleep exactly 6 times, he'll have Synthetic again, if he doesn't then read below.

2. After repeating the method above for few times, you'll notice that at some point he'll have Screws instead of Synthetic so don't be confused, simply sleep exactly 10 times and he'll start selling Synthetic again, after that you'll be able to buy Synthetic every 6 days for around 5-6 times before having to sleep again for 10 days.
Important Notes
1. The NPC only has daily deals at day time and never at night, so don't try to look for Synthetic at a night time.

2. The NPC has two simple selling pattern, the first pattern usually includes screws at first day, second day it's usually lubricants and third day is definitely Synthetic, this exact pattern repeats for few days, after that NPC starts second pattern that includes around 5 items without Synthetic.

First Pattern: Usually Screws, Lubricants and Synthetic.
Second Pattern: Screws, Steel tubing, Lubricants, Screws, Steel tubing or Wire.

3. What you should do is, sleep two times, make sure you wake up at the day time and then see which daily deal he has. Once you get Synthetic you no longer have to sleep for random days because that means you know that he'll have Synthetic again next time if you sleep for exactly 6 days(Must wake up at day).

4. He'll have 3x Synthetic as a daily deal for every 6 in-game days, around 5 or 6 times, but you first have to find the Synthetic deal before you sleep for 6 days.

5. At some point you'll see he sells screws or something else instead of Synthetic when you were sure it was supposed to be Synthetic, this is an another pattern and we'll calll it second, it usually includes screws, steel tubing, lubricants, screws, steel tubing or wire for each day, until he starts selling Synthetic again. Once you see that he has screws instead of when he should have Synthetic, this means second pattern has started, go ahead and sleep for 10 days as he'll most likely not have the Synthetic in second pattern.

Hope this guide helps, good day and happy sleeping!

if anyone is wondering it still works and probably will forever because devs are more focusing on dl2

Thanks for the guide. For the first time I did something using a shortcut method rather than grinding the game. But running all over the map to loot military vehicles is also pretty boring to me; don't have that much time. I didn't know that seller sold buddy parts specifically. I bough a bunch of lubricants and synthetics - thanks for the tip.

@doof__warrior: I don't think so, from what I see it's $400 each which is not a lot actually. Grind some weapons by running quarantine zone of choice (Stuffed Turtle is easy) and loot chests then sell those weapons.

is there anyway to not spend money?

Synthetic is one of the main components for buggy parts, I believe it's rarest and most valuable out of it all. About The Following.. you are in for a great ride :cozybethesda: I wish I could delete my memory and replay it over again.

I've not played yet The Following and so I don't even know what this Synthetic is. I'm about Legendary 6 or so now. I would sort of like to try the Following, is that recommended or should I totally complete the base game first? If you don't consider it too much of a spoiler, what is Synthetic? I am presuming some special enhancing drug mix made from ingredients.

That's why I mentioned the Warning. This method is not pointless, it's for rich people who are tired of running to military outposts and want to get Synthetic/other parts at faster rate. It's not like I'm forcing anyone to do exactly this method, I do actually enjoy going for military outposts and find it more enjoyable.

What I find more fun is to actually have more methods as a freedom rather than just one.

Going to all military cars is a much funner way to doso this method is just pointless
