These are all the creatures you need to complete the journal. You can obtain the entries for invicible enemies by examining special objects. There is no way to lock yourself out of being able to complete the journal.

8/5/2017 - The Hidden Dreams update was released. I played it briefly and encountered three new journal entries. The two secret bosses and the mobs one of them summons. Images of them are not contained in this guide and I'm not sure if they are required to complete the journal.

11/14/2017 - I've been playing other games and haven't updated this guide with some of the newer content. I received this information on missing entries from user BackyardBard:

"Menderbug is between Maggot and Lifeseed. White Defender is between Dung Defender and Flukefey. Then after Zote are new entries in the order of Grey Prince Zote, Winged Zoteling, Hopping Zoteling, and Volitile Zoteling (then God Tamer). After Markoth we've got Grimmkin Novice, Grimmkin Master, Grimmkin Nightmare, Grimm, Nightmare King (then Wingmould). That should bring the total to 157. To get all the Zote themed enemies, you have to beat Grey Prince Zote 4 times. All of the Grimmkin enemies appear as part of the Grimm Troupe questline. Menderbug is an extemely rare spawn under the dirtmouth well at the beginning of Forgotten Crossroads. And finally White Defender is the dream version of Dung Defender."

4/23/2018 - User Kanra has stated that the only entry missing is "Hive Knight, which is between Husk Hive and Spiny Husk in the journal."

9/5/2018 - User condemned has stated that the Flukemunga added in the Godmaster DLC is a required enemy. I'm aware that several new bosses appear in the pantheon but I don't know if their entries are required or not. Jaege mentioned the Pale Lurker.

Tricky enemy locations.

Most of the enemies are easy to find, but a few are tricky.

Here are the locations of some of the ones people commonly have trouble with:

• Goam - A petrified one is located through a secret passage in the Crossroads near its border with the Fungal Wastes.
  
• Gorgeous Husk - It's located through a secret passage in one of the houses near King's Station
  
• Gruzzer - After a certain point in the game you will not be able to find Gruzzers where they are normally located. You can still find them on the path to the Brooding Mawlek boss in the Crossroads.
  
• Void Tendrils - It's located in an upward secret passage on the lower right portion of the Abyss.
  
• Elder Hu - He can be found at a dead end in the Fungal Wastes. If you look at the location of the Leg Eater and follow the map slightly downwards you shouldn't have trouble finding it.
  
• Hunter's Mark - It's not included in the total.
  
  
• Note: Apparently there is a hidden bug called the menderbug. People have reported that it will appear in the journal but is not required for completion.
