Are you starting on Rust? Come here and learn how to survive!
By AiminGGnacoo
Let´s get started:

Hello mate. You are not the only one that has problems surviving, they kill you, they destroy your house, they chase every time you go farm. Probably they are such a d*ck, but well, this is Rust baby. If you follow this tips you will survive much more, but have in mind that you will die and die, even if you have 10000hs played. I died about 1567 times, but well, I´m still here.

Don´t farm in open spaces.
Clearly, you start naked, people that are much more than you will farm faster, so they will start destroying houses a lot more faster than you. If you go in open spaces, people with Bolts, can kill you easily, unless you are inside a bush, or you are doing zig zag. Go to small spaces, do zig zag and farm, if you hear footsteps, run for your life (and your loot). This mistakes are always made, don´t be sure of anything! That can cost you your life (and loot).

You would be dead if somebody was in the left rock, so take care of where you farm.
Playing with low FPS.
If you play with low FPS, you will lose all battles with enemies, keep in mind your PC and your settings, I have an english guide that can help you. English FPS Guide.

All the time seeing around.
If you don´t see around you, propably you will get a good shock, or you will get angry too. Currently if you hold control you can see around and continue moving, if you press tab for seeing the inventory, you can continue moving too. Here is how zig zag is.

Make the same movement all the time.
Farming.
Farming wood is something easy, specially if you do it in a secure zone, but rocks are differents:

HQM Rock: It gives much more hqm metal than the other ones, a lot of metal - stone, and a bit of sulfure. Hqm is used for guns and some stuff.

Sulfure Rock: It gives a lot of sulfure, a bit of metal and hqm. It is used for explosives, bullets, gunpowder and other stuff.

Metal Rock: It gives A LOT of metal, a minimun of sulfure and hqm. Metal is used for practically all, even metal or hard metal doors, walls. It´s called sh*tty metal because is to easy to find them.

There are like small rocks that you can grab from the floor, wood too.

Steps for building a house.
This steps are not for building a complete house, is for saying what it goes first. I will made a guide of this in a future.

1 - Walls, roofs and a cupboard. You have to have (wtf) a door crafted and a codelock too.
2 - Then you make it bigger, if you are in vanilla you will have to leave an open space for building upstairs later. In modded you have remove, so writte /remove in the chat and destroy what you want.
3 - Boxes, furnaces, turrets.

This house is beautiful but easy to raid.

This is an awesome house for living.

This guy is crazy.

Team and server reputation.
If you play with a team, Rust will be more easy for you, other thing would be "the server reputation".
If you are the king of the server and all the people hates you, probably you will be searched all the time until they find your house and raid it. If you are friendly and make friends into the server, you can request them help if you are being raided.

My experience: I made a friend that was the clan king, when they where raiding me, I requested them help, and they helped me, we won. Later we went to their house and raid it.

We destroyed them.

Furnace Split (Faster Smelting)
People that are starting on Rust always do this, they smelt one kind of ore in one complete stack, this make smelting too slow. So here it comes the "Furnace Split" or "Faster Smelting".
Instead of using a complete stack, you use 3 or 4 stacks (if you use 4 stacks, other materials will be dropped out of the furnace, but they won´t disappear).

You can make the smelting 3 or 4 times faster.
Component System (Crafting)

This things are components, practically, all materials in Rust are made with these, you can find them around the world in some boxes, barrels, cars. When you want to craft something, you can just look for what materials it needs and search them around the world.

They are in Radtowns too, but be careful! You can die of radiation, you should search in barrels and boxes for a suit to protect you.

This things are in Radtowns, is a Recycler, is used for turning components into materials.

This zones are dangerous, they are always full.
Other stuff.
1 - Rust has wipes all weeks.

2 - A wipe is when all the servers restarts.

3 - If you want to raid a house, go for something small.

4 - Guns have differents recoils, you can train with them by entering in a "Battlefield" server.

5 - Now you can´t play Rust Legacy );

Have a beautiful experience playing

And a nice day (:

If you have any problem you can leave a comment on the guide.

Omg they are typing mistakes but well thx, if you have more than 500 hours played is because you now how to play a lot, then is because yo like the game because is just a game and not a farming machine, but yeah, if you farm without home and die, you should get angry, break your keyboard :D

I must add (although i didnt want to) you are basing your "wisdom" on 700 hours of play , I realise that everyone starts off knowing nothing, I believe that my comments would be helpful to new players, as they are the mistakes most new players make, forget farming till you have a secure base, and who needs to farm ? , unless you have high external stone walls you cannot protect your crops anyway, and btw it is not polite to point out spelling mistakes as not everyone is fluent in English, thats it goodbye ,

@DaTruff! Typing mistake.
@acebaby12 6 thousand hours are a lot of hours, so you can play well because you know how to do it.

I will make this my last post on this topic, I am told that this is for solo players and i will make the point that i spent 6 thousand hours playing solo . first in legacy then experimental when it first started (and you were wiped sometimes twice a day) and you had to build a base (or 2) a day,
I can start fresh after a wipe and have a 5x5x4 base in stone in approx 2 hours still playing solo on a vanilla server, on a modded server it will be all metal, I am not saying its easy but every new player has to organise themselves and look at the map and decide on a "safe" area and then get building, collect every wood/stone/metal scrap you go past on the map as well as "free" food like cactus which gives you cloth as well as food, means getting a bow a lot quicker and of course clothing,
well thats it for me, I have been playing on Pal-ul-don for 2 years now and apart from the occasional fool its great, see you all around and have fun
