Our Sovereign Nation: Quotes

Our Sovereign Nation is a planned mod series to give every civilization aesthetically unique versions of various different aspects of the game. Our Sovereign Nation: Quotes provides every civilization with a unique set of quotes for Technologies and Civics.

These quotes are not voice acted, because I don't have enough money to pay Sean Bean to record 3400+ quotes, but they are all unique quotes so you don't get his voice and each line burned into your skull. Every quote is either by someone of that civilization, or about the civilization, or about someone of that civilization.

Will this work with the DLCs / Rise & Fall?
Yes, it does.

Will this work if I don't have any of the DLC?
Yes, this mod was specifically programmed in a way to make it so you can have as few or as many civs, and it will still work.

What are all of the quotes?

Will this work with mods that add new Civilizations?
Yes, however if they do not have support specifically for this mod then they will be forced to use the default quotes.

I made a new civilization, how do I add support so they have their own unique quotes?
This was deliberately designed to be as simple as possible.

1. Go inside of the Our Sovereign Nation: Quotes mod folder, and go into the localization folder. (Our Sovereign Nation Quotes\Text\en_US)
2. There is a file titled "BASE - Copy from this for new civs.xml", copy this and change the name to "OSN_(Your civilizations name)_Quotes.xml".
3. Open this file. Go to the "Find and Replace" tool in your text editor, and replace every instance of "(Insert Civ Name Here)" with the name of your civilization in all caps.
4. Now you just need to go through each of the text strings and add the quotes you want. "Quote" is where the quote goes and "Quoted" is where you put the person you are quoting. To know what Technology or Civic you are adding the quote for, check the name of the tag, it will be something like "LOC_CIVILIZATION_(Insert Civ Name Here)_TECH_WRITING_QUOTE", it is a tech because of the "TECH" and it is the writing tech because of "WRITING".
5. Save, add the new file to your mod (both in your mods folder and in your .modinfo file), and your good!

Click the "Subscribe" Button above and then enable it in the Additional Content menu!

This quote is awful, can you change it?
There is a lot of quotes that are very poor, this is largely due to being unable to find anything better, so if you find a quote you don't like and you know a better quote then you can recommend a change to it on the spreadsheet document linked above.

It doesn't work!
If this mod doesn't work, here are some basic things you can do to try to fix it:
1. Download the mod from here instead: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/our-sovereign-nation-quotes.25853, it could be steam is downloading it improperly.
2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\870797790 on your computer, if this file doesn't exist, is empty, or is missing a .modinfo file, then it likely downloaded wrong.
3. Make sure all other mods are disabled, it could be conflicting with a different UI based mod. Then enable them one by one tell you find the specific mod it conflicts with.
