Big Mathis' Realistic Helicopters

This is the OH-58A Kiowa. It is a two-bladed observation and reconnaissance helicopter. However, they were also used for light attack, which is why it is armed with a grenade launcher and a minigun.

The two-bladed rotor is a so called semi-rigid rotor. It is simple in design but it does cause some vibrations.

I strive to make all my helicopters realistic in terms of looks and mechanisms, and to make them robust and easy to fly.

Update 2.0: Minor upgrades. Increased engine speed. Less shakiness. Increased hover balance.

Controls:

Engine start: 1 or Right Shift

Collective: I,K (Makes the helicopter go up and down)

Pitch/Roll: Arrow keys (Pitch makes the nose go up and down, roll makes the helicopter move from side to side)

Yaw: J,L (Turns the helicopter)

Grenade launcher: Left control

Minigun: Period

wow, honestly I have barely looked at besiege in the last couple years... a few years ago, I built what I still believe to be the first like "realistic" helicopter(its on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAC3V6N-Q9k) its honestly crazy how far this game had come since then... back when I was part of the modding community, we still had two rival mod loaders, spaars won out in the end... I'll never forget the first time I played multiplayer (me and, oh I can't remember his name now... I was the first or second person in multiplayer with the author of the multiplayer mod lol...)

so many good memories.. I was working on a mod where you could run little wires around to logic boxes and control stuff with timers and logic.... I got it kinda working... but it was really ugly and laggy lol.. I like jumping into games early and helping them grow.... I guess after besiege I went to from the depths (and developed a couple mods for it...) and then I spent a bunch of time in dream car builder... from the depths had to be my favorite.. but nick has moved on from it, (the dev) but I may still go back and get my mods working for it again now that their aren't like weekly updates to constantly break it lol... idk why I'm putting this here, just reminiscing out loud I guess, I would love to chat sometime
