Forger

Description
*** NOTE: I can no longer support this mod due to real life constraints. I am very sorry for the severely delayed update. With the release of Dawnguard for the PC I do not have the time to iron out the wrinkles. I authorized a user named -MrFrank- to continue the mod but I have no idea if he has done so.

Forger is a mod that allows smithys to crate (forge) replica armor and weapons (forgeries) without any enchantments. The reason behind this mod was to allow players to enchant these specialty items to suit their play style. It started out as a simple arrow crafting mod but expanded to other items in the game that could not be crafted. The arrow crafting no longer exists, but you can now create Nightingale armor, Dark Brotherhood armor, Thieves Guild armor, and more.

The armor and weapons that are made craftable by this mod require a smithing perk of some kind, clothes do not require any smithing perks. However, all items require a specific quest to be completed before they will appear in the smithing category at the forge. I made the decision to restrict them by quest to ensure that the player had at least obtained, or had otherwise been exposed to, the original before crafting copies. (How can you forge a forgery of something that you have never seen?) I will not document what quests will open up these recipies. I will only say that radiant quests are not included and the quest to be completed directly relates to the item.

Note: One cheat-like item has been added to this mod. A custom, hidden Leather Smithing perk was added that allows improving all leather items up to legendary quality. This perk is granted to the player automatically when the Steel Smithing perk is chosen. I feel that if heavy armor based characters can improve all their armor up to legendary then light armor based characters should be able to do the same.

Just because I don't want to give away the quest doesn't mean I won't give up the perks though. Here's the list of items with the smithing category and perk required:
- Nightingale Armor: Leather category - Advanced Armors
- Nightingale Weapons: Glass category - Glass Smithing
- Dark Brotherhood (Shrouded Armor): Leather category - Advanced Armors
- Blade of Woe: Steel Category - Steel Smithing
- Thieves Guild/Guild Leader Armor: Leather category - Advanced Armors
- Daedric Artifacts: Daedric category - Steel Smithing
- Blades Armor and Sword: Steel category - Steel Smithing
- Dragon Priest Masks (Light Armor): Glass Category - Glass Smithing
- Dragon Priest Masks (Heavy Armor): Daedric Category - Daedric Smithing
- Stormcloak Officer Armor: Leather Category - Advanced Armors
- General Tullius' Armor: Imperial Category - Steel Smithing
- Redguard Sword (Scimitar): Steel Category - Steel Smithing
- Jagged Crown: Dragon Category - Dragon Smithing

- The Rueful Axe
- Masque of Clavicus Vile
- Volendrung
- Mehrune's Razor
- Ebony Blade
- Dawnbreaker
- Mace of Molag Bal

Change Log:

*********************
Version 1.2.1
*********************
Jagged Crown:
- Fixed a bug that was allowing it to be crafted without completing the appropriate quest.
- Moved to the Dragon dategory and now requires Dragon Smithing

*********************
Version 1.2
*********************
I slightly altered the design goals of this mod, I have included a few craftable items that are not available through normal game play. The thought process is that an expert smith should be able to make a replica without touching the item, given he/she has spent enough time in the presence of it.

Added:
---------------------
Leather Smithing Perk (hidden)
- Given to the player automatically when the Steel Smithing perk is chosen
- Allows all leather armor items to be improved up to legendary quality
Ebony mail (by popular demand)
Jagged Crown
Psiijic Order outfit
Greybeard outfit

Updated:
---------------------
Crafted Nightingale Armor:
- Now requires the Advanced Armors perk instead of Glass Smithing. This was done to bring it in line with the other leather armor types enabled by this mod.
- The materials required to craft have been adjusted. The number of ebony ingots has been reduced and the number of leather has been increased for the boots, hood, and cuirass
- Changed the upgrade material from Ebony Ingot to Leather

*********************
Version 1.1
*********************

Added:
---------------------
Dragon Priest Masks
- Dragon priest masks have no quest requirement so a script was added to track when the masks are picked up. Players that already have one or more of the masks will need to drop them or store them in a container (any container) and pick them up in order for the script to recognize that they have acquired the item. This is a one time triggered event and is persisted to the save game file. The originals can be stored/sold/droped and still be available for crafting.
- Light armor masks require Glass smithing and appear in the Glass category
- Heavy armor masks require Daedric smithing and appear in the Daedric category
Redguard sword (curved swords!)
Reguard light and dark cloth outfits
Thalmor outfit
General Tullius' armor
Stormcloak Officer armor
Ulfric Stormcloak's outfit

Removed:
---------------------
Arrow crafting. There are tons of other, and better, mods that allow this. I cannot guarantee that this mod will play nice with theirs.

Updated:
---------------------
Nighingale weapons:
- They now appear in the Glass category when forging to keep the UI consistent with the required perk
- The base damage as been adjusted to be equivalent to the highest level of the original
