How to fly Helicopters in Unturned

This guide will give you a step by step tutorial for to become a helicopter pilot in a few minutes.

Preparation

To follow the tutorial you will need a few things.

A helicopter (Spawn: @vehicle 93)
A gas can (Spawn: @give 28)
A blowtorch (Spawn: @give 76)

Make sure you have a map with multiple helicopters just in case.

Controls

Before you take off it is important to have the right controls.

This part is all about preference, if you think its nice flying with your mouse use that, if not I recommend you to use the arrow keys.
The arrow keys can be nice to use as you can look around in third person and still control the plane.
My preference is to turn (Yaw) with A and D, Roll with the left and right keys, Pitch with the up and down keys and control the throttle with W and S.



Again, it is your own preference what you like the most.

Takeoff and hovering

To take off, get in the helicopter and hold W for a few seconds.
After liftoff, stop holding W and wait a small time and when you see the helicopter dropping, just hold W for a small time again.


When the helicopter starts moving, just correct it by gently turning the other way, don't react to aggressively or you might crash!

Flying

To fly with a helicopter you just hold W and put the helicopter at a about 35 degrees.
If you want to slow down just put you're nose up and it will slow down.



To turn, roll the helicopter about 20 degrees and pull the nose up.



After turning you just put the helicopter straight.

To turn hold your Yaw button (for me A or D) and the helicopter wil rotate without having to move alot.

Landing

To land, Make sure you're helicopter is hovering above the ground and hold S.
When you almost touch the ground, make sure you put in a little power so you don't slam into the ground.



[TIP] If you want to make sure you're helicopter doesn't blow up while landing, just hover above the ground and exit the helicopter the helicopter wil not explode if it touches something that way.
