How To Add Custom Music

Sometimes, you'd like to listen to your own music without turning off the game sound and playing music in the background. Lucky for you, there's a way to have your music appear on its own radio station, even with added advertisements and chatting!

A Few Easy Steps

MAKE SURE YOUR FILES HAVE .mp3, .m4a OR .wmv AT THE END!

Open the location of your music. If you have more than one song, click and drag until all the files are a light blue. Then right-click and select Copy. Then, click on Documents (On the left-hand side), then Rockstar Games, GTA V and finally, User Music (or type \Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music into the bar near the top). Then you'll need to right-click and select paste.

Now open GTA. V or Online, doesn't matter, as it should appear in both. When you get into a car, look for the Self Radio station. If it doesn't appear, press ESC on your keyboard, go into Settings, then Audio and Auto Scan For Music. Quick or Full, doesn't matter as long as it finds your music.

Is there a way of setting this up so that the User Music file can draw from the a Music Library, so that people don't have to duplicate their music libraries or a playlist into the User Music Folder?

My library is somewhere near 50 gigabytes and duplicating that is just a huge waste of space.

Quick tip for everyone: You HAVE to have a minimum of 4 songs or else this will not work!!!

Some experience FPS drop when listening to their own music. R* didn't patched that yet.

SOLUTION FOR AUDIOPHILES
On Steam version I just Shift+Tab, open browser and look for a podcast, Mixcloud or Soundcloud. YouTube is laggy, but you can try.
OR
You can Alt+Tab and run your mp3s locally via media player. Most keyboards have media buttons, so EZ to pause, change track etc.
