[XM] The Munsters House-1313 Mockingbird Lane

My favorite syndication sitcom makes its way to Planet Coaster with a detailed replica of the ghoulish house located at 1313 Mockingbird Lane in fictious Mockingbird Heights, California. I have reproduced the house at closely as possible but had to take some liberties with the windows and some of the roof lines because of the certain limits in Planet Coaster.

There also seems to be various colors schemes of the house depending on which model picture, model, or real house you were looking at. Themes included house colors from yellow to grey to brown with brown and black roofs. Since the TV series was shot in B&W, there is no way of knowing which color scheme was actually used for the show, therefore after experimenting with several themes, I used a yellowish tint color on the sidings with brown roof as that color scheme stood out well and gave the night lighting a brighter intensity. You can see the various color comparisons' in the screenshot above.

Blueprint comes complete with nice night lighting, it's own black thunderstorm cloud with lightning, and the family pet, Spot, going into his underground cave which has an open end under the main stairs inside. There is also a ground level marker in front of the fence gate entrance. Simply use the X tool when placing blueprint level into the ground until the writing is only showing on the ground or the sign itself is placed just below ground level without the writing on the ground. The Munsters (produced by Universal) is an American sitcom depicting the home life of a family of benign monsters starring Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster and Yvonne De Carlo as his wife, Lily Munster. The series was a satire of both traditional monster movies and the wholesome family fare of the era, and was produced by the creators of 'Leave It to Beaver'. It ran concurrently with the similarly macabre themed 'The Addams Family' (produced by Paramount) on the opposite channel but achieved higher figures in the Nielsen ratings.

The series originally aired on Thursday at 7:30 pm on CBS from September 24, 1964, to May 12, 1966; 70 episodes were produced. It was cancelled after ratings dropped due to the premiere of ABC's Batman, which was in color. Though ratings were low during its initial two-year run, The Munsters found a large audience in syndication. This popularity warranted a spin-off series, as well as several films, including one with a theatrical release.
