Guide to Jäger - How to get better (Outdated)

In this guide, I'll leave information about Jäger, his weapons, gadgets and how to use them effectively.

One of the best pump-action shotguns in the game, however, I prefer using the other alternative for Jäger's main weapon. You may still use this weapon on Bandit and the recruits with a good result.


416-C Carbine

The C-416 Carbine is the hardest hitting weapon available on defense (Excluding Shotguns and Pistols). Its very high damage and average rate of fire makes it a force to be reckoned with.

P12 is a good sidearm perfectly capable of doing good work. It has no alternatives.

Gadgets

Deployable Shield



A gadget inferior to Barbed Wire, it may help both you AND your enemies it many ways.


Barbed Wire



Definitely a better option than the Shield. Barbed Wire slows down the attacking team, making noise doing so.

Unique Gadget

ADS-MKIV "Magpie"


The ADS (Active Defense System) will intercept any grenades and/or missiles in its range. It can be placed on any flat surface on walls and on the ground. The device only has two charges with which it can neutralize grenades. By picking up the device, and placing it on a surface again, the charges are refilled.

Tactics

Disclaimer: I do not guarantee for any of these tactics to work for you, though they do for me.

Roaming

For this tactic you're going to need this loadout:

C-416 - You can choose between the Silencer or the Compensator + Whatever scope is best for you. DO NOT use the laser attachment as it may show the enemy your location.

Barbed Wire - I'll explain later


At the preparation phase, quickly reinforce two walls, deploy all your ADS near entry points for the attackers. Then, run over to a hiding place somewhere else on the map as fast as you can. Set up Barbed Wire around your hiding place so that you may know when an enemy is approaching. Here's a simplified image:


Note: Even when the enemy is destroying the Barbed Wire, you will hear when they do.


That way you won't have any trouble with attackers sneaking up on you and you may hide in peace. You can't do that the whole round, however. When you get a tip from your teammates about where the enemies are breaching into the objective, get them from behind.

This is the most effective tactic when playing as Jäger.

Objective Camping

For this tactic you're going to need this loadout:

C-416 OR M870 - personalize the weapon to your style, it's not so important.

P12 - Once again, duh.

Deployable Shield - For cover


After you finish reinforcing walls, place your Deployable Shield in a good position in the objective room, a corner for example, so that it protects you from one of the entry points. Then place an ADS on the wall by the entrance your shield is protecting you from. That way you're safe from Grenades behind your shield. For the rest of the round, hide behind your shield while covering another entry point.

This works so much better if you have a buddy with a shield who can copy you in another section of the objective room. Simply place another ADS on his side.

Note: This tactic also works with any other operator with a shield, it may be hard to avoid grenades without a Jäger on your team though.

I think its better to use jager as a roamer then as a objective based person if you place your ads's on the walls and good places in the room and your barbed wire on the door and reinfore you should be free to flank and roam considering his gun damage and his 3 speed he is a much better roamer than room camper
