Wrong classification of CERTification types; and this is why... (wrong TIERs)
By BoGy1980 TeamSpeak -> IP.BOGY.BE
There is something wrong with the Certification classification (class 1-2-3), some certs are in the wrong class and i will make it clear in this guide.

Please give a 'thumbs up' rating if you find this guide any good. I'd appreciate that gesture.

What are Certifications, how to recognize?
I'll start off with some explaining for those who are (still) not aware of certified items...

Most items you receive, be it dropped ingame or through opening a crate, are regular items. Sometimes though you'll get a colored item (like a blue firehelmet instead of the normal red) and other times you get an item that is certified. Colored items do not show a special tag on their respective icons, you'll only see the colored item and in it's details it'll say which color is used. With certified items on the other had it'll clearly show that the item is certified on it's icon and even post you what certification is used. So instead of 'firehelmet' it could read 'Paragon Firehelmet' when the paragon certification is applied on that firehelmet.
Why are Certifications important or of any value?
Well, most people do not seem to know, but Psyonix has announced that in one of the next updates the certifications will finally get their glory-moment. They'll be used at the end-game screen at every match, to show the winning team it's users BEST scores on those certified items. It'll replace the currently shown gamestats like most goals, most bumps, fastest scorer, etc. So it's better to already start using them now so you get a nice high value on the counter by the day that specific update goes live so you're the real show-off that day with a level 9 or 10 certification (i know i'll be one of them...) and having mutliple 1000's of points advance on the other users who only then start to see the use of certified items.
Also, the day cert goes live, the demand for good certifications will go up on a highrise and prices will go boom. Nobody will want to be stuck with the show-off certification, everyone will want to have striker or playmaker or one of the others that count fast 'n easy... I'm sure by then everyone wlll see that i was right as the demand for certain certifications will be much higher than others and thus the current classification is off with the curve for demand. (you'd expect tier1 highest demand.... we'll see for some other certs later in this guide, and why!)
Current classification
This is the current classification... I don't know on what it's actually based or at what they looked to create the item-order.

  • Tier 1
    • Paragon (MVP's)
    • Scorer (Goals Scored)
    • Striker (Shots on goal)
    • Victor (Wins)
  • Tier 2
    • Aviator (Aerial Goals)
    • Playmaker (Assists)
    • Tactician (Centers)
    • Sweeper (Clears)
  • Tier 3
    • Acrobat (Bicycle Goals)
    • Goalkeeper (Saves)
    • Guardian (Epic Saves)
    • Juggler (Juggles)
    • Show-Off (Backwards Goals)
    • Sniper (Long Goals)
    • Turtle (Upside down goals)
Classification by points-per-level
This classification is based on the amount of points you need to get to level-up the certification.

  • Class A - Highest amount of points per level
    • Striker
    • Sweeper
    • Tactician
  • Class B - Medium points per level
    • Acrobat
    • Aviator
    • Goalkeeper
    • Guardian
    • Juggler
    • Playmaker
    • Scorer
    • Show-Off
    • Sniper
    • Turtle
  • Class C - Lowest amount of points per level
    • Paragon
    • Victor

These are the amounts of points and the levels that go along with the classes. Note that after level 5 there's a different level-name for each certification. I have given a few examples. At level 10 you'll be Master (as you mastered the cert) but then you get another title for the certification (as mentioned above)
  • Class A
    • Level 1 "Certified" 0-49
    • Level 2 "Capable" 50-99
    • Level 3 "Skillful" 100-199
    • Level 4 "Veteran" 200-499
    • Level 5 "Fantastic" 500-999
    • Level 6 "Incredible" 1000-1999
    • Level 7 "Absurd" 2000-4999
    • Level 8 5000-9999
    • Level 9 10000-17999
    • Level 10 "Master + New Title" 18000-∞ (With New Title I mean like; Tactition does not become Master Tactition, but "Master Planner"; so your CERT gets a new title
  • Class B
    • Level 1 "Certified" 0-24
    • Level 2 "Capable" 25-49
    • Level 3 "Skillful" 50-99
    • Level 4 "Veteran" 100-249
    • Level 5 "Fantastic" 250-499
    • Level 6 "Incredible" 500-999
    • Level 7 "Absurd" 1000-2499
    • Level 8 2500-4999
    • Level 9 5000-8999
    • Level 10 Master + New Title 9000-∞ (see at class A for explanation about new title)
  • Class C
    • Level 1 "Certified" 0-9
    • Level 2 "Capable" 10-24
    • Level 3 "Skillful" 25-49
    • Level 4 "Veteran" 50-124
    • Level 5 "Fantastic" 125-249
    • Level 6 "Daring" 250-499
    • Level 7 "Relentless" 500-1249
    • Level 8 1250-2499
    • Level 9 2500-4499
    • Level 10 Master + New Title 4500-∞ (see at class A for explanation about new title)

    • Striker (Shots on goal)
    • Victor (Wins)

    • Sniper (Long Goals)
  • Tier 3 - Rarely wanted certifications; leveling goes really slow.

Certifications that went DOWN a tier
I deranked a few certs, like the MVP stat cert Paragon. Simply because it takes too long to get into high ranks with these certs compared to other certs that are now TIER 1. Simply said; you only can have 1 point in 4 games on average when using paragon; so it counts very very slowly... while the best (imho) certification is giving you 10 points or more per game (centers or sweeps, depending on how strong the opponent is). OK it's true, you need less points to level the certification, but if you take account of the points per match you'll acquire, there are much much better certs to level up..
You can level up most tier 1 certs straight into the veteran (ka-tching, that's an achievement) in a single day, not with tier 2 items..
Tier 3 items are items you'd better only use if you do crazy stuff and play a lot of rumble where those things can happen... but in regular matches i don't see anyone making constant backward goals or bicycle goals..
But let's go back that MVP certification; i don't see why it was tier 1, you don't get points when playing 1v1, in 2v2 the chances are 1 in 4 and on 3v3 chances are 1 in 6 that you're the best... it'll take ages to get only 100 of those...
Certifications that went up a tier
Most easy to explain; these are point-magnets that they overlooked with big glasses on their noses... I can for instance promise you that with the tactician certification you just cannot go wrong, it's the best there is, far better than any other... in any given match you'll score at least a few on that counter even by accident.... it took me around a month to get my item all the way up to level 9 (that's 10.000 points on the counter) and in less then another month i'll be having my level 10 item (18.000). I never knew why they said tactician was tier2 as none of my friends with tier 1 items even got close on leveling their items... So you'll see this will be the most sought after certification. Next is probably the Sweeper; as this one also counts quite fast i noticed (every time you get points near your goal for shooting the ball away, it's this stat, so go figure)
Goalkeeper is quite good too; especially if you're the dedicated goalkeeper.. every save is a point, and so are all other tier1 on my list; quite easy to gather lots of points...
Conclusion
So, i hope as you noticed the 'current' list is not correct; it's holding some big mistakes in place and should be corrected... We could use the official class-list based on points to get or my updated 'future classification' list to determine the future pricing of certs.

I've already tried to contact some of the 'trade guide price makers' but got no answer... so i stopped trying to contact them ... Nonetheless I still hope they read this and come to the right conclusion...

And off course you readers are free to ventilate your opninions in the comments; i'll react when your comments are meaningful.

PS: This guide is not a 'Trading page'... I won't be an a'hole and forbid each trading-post, but DO NOT SPAM TRADE-REQUESTS where you advertise your (wanted) items for trading. Max 1 trade-post per day per user if you're posting trade-requests. If i see more i'll just delete them and only let the oldest one stay online.

PLEASE RATE THIS GUIDE, more ranking = more people see your comments!
