100% Achievement Guide
By DrPixel
Welcome to my quick and (somewhat?) easy 100% achievement guide for Darkness Assault! It's a subpar game that deserves a lackluster guide, so uh, here you go I guess. Enjoy?

Brief Overview
  • # of achievements: 15
  • # of missable achievements: 3? All the gun achievements can be skipped technically I think - keep an eye out in particular for the second gun, the glock, as it's totally possible to beat level 3 without picking it up first.
  • Estimated time to 100%: 45 min-1.5 hours (it depends on how lost you get during level 3 in particular - hence the guide)

Somewhat Important Info/A Map For Levels 2+3
So, some basic info - to 100% the game you have to complete the first 3 levels of the game and play a tiny bit of the fourth. Doesn't sound too bad, right? Well....it kind of is terrible, actually. The reason for that is because each level has multiple objectives, most of which are all over the place, especially in level 3's case. Hence, the guide! In particular, this guide will help not only with getting all the achievements but also to beat each level pretty efficiently, since otherwise it can be a nightmare trying to do all the objectives while also searching for documents (which are required to progress through levels) and not getting lost in the process.

I didn't include information about enemy placements or whatnot since I assumed that you'd be shooting them generally. Just be on the lookout for enemies, sprint away from them if need be (shift was the default key for me), and make sure to use medkits if you're low on health. Oh, and try not to waste ammo, since it can be hard to find.

Also, note that I organized levels 2+3 (since level 3 is basically level 2 with various changes) into a map you can view down below. You'll probably want to use that for level 3, and possibly also level 2. I took the map from a Russian guide on here (it's also viewable in-game but I lazily repurposed it for this guide) with the help of a Russian friend who translated it for me (thanks THG-303!), plus I added some useful markers where key items/locations are, along with a sloppily-drawn path to follow for both levels. The green path is for level 2, while the orange path is for level 3. Location A is the start of level 2/where the 2nd gun is (only in level 3)/where a document is (in level 3), location B is where a document is in level 2, location C is the other document in level 2/the generator for level 3, location D is level 2's exit/level 3's starting point, location E is the boiler room needed to open level 2's exit, location F is the elevator, where a key is/level 3's exit, and finally, location G is the final document for level 3. It's a bit of a doozy, but hopefully the map helps a little. The rest of the map is just useless paths to get lost in - trust me.

Here's the map:

I made the paths after making the letters, which I now realize was a dumb idea but I'm too lazy to fix it for now. A is in the bottom right corner, while C is above it, B is above C, D is to the right and a bit above B, G is to the left and a bit above D, E is above G, and F (the elevator) is way far away in the bottom left corner of the map. Hopefully that helps, just in case the letters were a little hard to read.
Level 1
1. Exit your cell
2. Take a left, then another left
3. Run forward until you encounter an enemy - when that happens, try to run around him (you may need to hug the left wall, then sprint to the right and around him or otherwise you might die)
4. Assuming you ran past the enemy and didn't die, continue forward until you hit a wall, then take a right and another right to a small room where the key to the level exit should be.
5. But wait! You can't exit yet because yay game logic! After exiting that room, you have to collect 2 documents. The first is at the opposite end of the corridor in a large room to the right.
6. Luckily, the 2nd document is near the exit. To get there, go back to the hallway you entered in step 2 (it should be at the opposite end of the hall from the first document - near the room with the key in it; on the right), continue straight until you hit a dead end, then take a right and enter the room on the right at the end of the hall. Document #2 should be in there.
7. Now it's time to get to level 1's exit. Simply exit that room, then take a left at the end of the hallway, go straight for a tiny bit, and the exit gate should be on the right. Level 1 is done!
Level 2
1. Enter the room on your left to get 1 of 3 guns you need for the only missable achievements in this game. Also pick up the ammo and medkit of course. (By the way, make sure to equip the gun using I to access your inventory, where you can also heal if need be)

At this point, I highly recommend that you start using that map I linked earlier.

The short version for level 2 based on the map is: A-->C-->B-->D-->E-->D

Here's the longer version:
2. Exit that room. Continue straight, then go right --> left --> left
3. In this new hallway, take the 2nd left and then enter either of the two doors on the left to pick up document #1 for this level.
4. The 2nd document is: left (assuming you exited that big room) -->right --> right, then it should be in the room straight ahead.
5. Now you have to re-trace your steps back to the hallway we deviated from at the end of step 2. To get there, go straight --> left --> left --> straight
6. Next, go left and follow the linear path until you reach a door covered in steam.
7. From here, keep going straight/following the only exits until you enter a hallway with 2 exits to the left. Pick the farthest one, which has a generator that lets you remove the steam. Sweet! Level 2 is done!
Level 3
This level is the worst. It's identical to level 2 in a lot of ways, but it's incredibly easy to get lost, so hopefully this guide helps. Definitely follow the map for this level. Trust me, it'll help immensely. Follow the orange path if you get lost! Anyway, here's the short version:

D-->G-->F-->D-->A-->C-->D-->F

Going to D actually isn't necessary, but I found that it helped me from getting lost while I was making the guide so I think it's a good idea.

And a slightly more in-depth variation of the same basic idea:

D-->G(document #1)-->F(elevator+key - don't forget to grab it)-->D (I recommend re-tracing your steps to not get lost)-->A (essentially go back to where level 2's start was, but now the gate is open - pick up the gun and document in the two doors adjacent to the open gate, but make sure you remember what direction you came from and don't go through the open gate)-->C (start the generator on the right side of that room)-->D (for the purposes of orienting yourself and avoiding enemies)-->F

Good luck. Hopefully you won't get lost for an hour like I did.
Level 4/Cleanup grind
Well, the hard part is over. Now it's time to get grinding! Or, well....not quite yet. You'll see - there's a really nice spot coming up.
1. Exit the starting room, take a left --> straight --> left --> right --> straight (go through the door)
2. Oh hey, look - the last gun we need! And more importantly, there's an enemy right outside - yet the game auto-saved right before this. How convenient!
3. So yeah, the strategy is to shoot as many bullets as you can before the guard kills you (assuming you only still need both 25 deaths and 500 bullets fired; if you need kills too then just kill the guard repeatedly) and then load your save again as many times as needed. It should go pretty quickly - the 25 deaths took the longest for me.

And with that, you should be done. Kills, deaths, and bullets fired can be all done during level 4's convienent checkpoint. Other than that, you may need to check your documents page for an achievement and also start the game on Ultra quality for another one.

Thanks! :winter2019happygingerbread:
Level 1.4 is a fail. The fucking zombie/mummy that I meet in 1.3 just quickly catches up with me in the dead-end room, where the key is not anyway, and destroys me in a couple of hits.
