Location
The Kaprosuchus is commonly found in the swamp biome along with Sarcos, Snakes, Dimetrodons, Pesky Bugs, Giant Elephant Giraffe Creatures, and many more! They are usually not on land but swimming around in the water. Since, they are small in size, it is actually semi difficult to spot them when the Kapro is submerged; this, comboed with its lunge/leap attack, makes it the perfect Jump Scare animal!
Weaponry
The Kapro has three different attacks. It, of course, has the standard/left-click attack which deals regular damage. It then has a right-click attack which makes it leaps through the air at terrifying speeds. The first animal that it hits, as long as it is as big or smaller then a Raptor (excluding Beelzebufo and other Kapros), will be locked into its jaws; allowing it to "pick up" the animal, like a Pteradactyl or an Argentavis. This Leap Attack also deals high damage at cost of a chunk of stamina. It then has a third attack where, if you press C, it will lock an animal into its jaws if the animal is directly infront of it. Again, allowing it to "pick up" the animal. However, this attack deals barely any damage and as well can be used on your own animals. All of these attacks will cause a fast stamina drain effect. This effect does affect wild dinos as well as your own.
KO Strategy/Taming
The Kapro is susceptible to being bolaed, as well as being picked up by an Argent, Quetz, or Wyvern:
  • Regular knocking it out by shooting tranq arrows at it in the swamp. Not Suggested
  • Bola it, then proceed to knock it out. More Suggested than the first, but it's kinda glitchy so there is a chance it can still lunge and grab you (You have been warned)
  • Luring or picking it up and dropping it into a taming pen, then proceed to knock it out. Highly Suggested
Its Prefered food is Tapejara Kibble. A lv 150 Kapro takes 33 kibble, and 17 on a double taming evolution event. If you dont have tapejara kibble, but do have a fridge, I suggest stocking up on raw prime meat. A lv 150 will use about 86 raw prime meat, so you do need two fridges. Raw meat, is not suggested for higher levels.
Stats
The Kapro's stats are like this
  • Health:
Always low, it is quite common to knock out high levelled Kapros and find out they have less than 1000 health before tame
  • Stamina:
The Kapro seems to always have decent stamina. All of the high levelled ones that i've tamed all had at least 1000 stamina before tame. If your Kapro was not blessed with high stam, don't worry. The kapro also seems to have high stamina regen, which counteracts it always leaping
  • Oxygen:
Why won't you be surprised when I tell you that the Kapro has NO oxygen. Meaning it will stay under water for as long as it takes, wow what a nice spoiler :)
  • Food:
The Kapro actual has decent food
  • Weight:
The high levelled Kapros metntioned before all got tamed with around 200 weight. So it's not really a Caravan and more like an agile, adept hunter. Go figure
  • Melee Damage:
This, of course, varies. It seems to, when looking at the ones I tamed, that high levelled Kapros all have good melee damage prior to being tamed.
  • Speed:
All Kapros, no matter what level, will always get KOed with 100% movement speed, then when tamed will stand up with 120% movement speed.
But wait!, you new guys scream within your wooden huts, What about low level stats?
Heres the thing, because of the kapro having low health, I Highly recommend you do Not tame a low level Kapro. High levelled Kapros all got tamed with health near that equal to a lv 40 Trike. I as well have tamed a level ten before and it got tamed with only 200 health.
Usage/Role
The Kapro has many uses in Theory has seen below:
  • PvP:
The Kapro, being released into Ark a day before this guide, has not found a true position in pvp. I believe however, that it will soon be recognized, as the most annoying thing ever. If you can land a few shots it will drain your targets stamina. Then, while they try to run away you can then either leap attack or just regular C attack, you can pick up the enemy player off of his mount. Now, the player Can still attack you when he is being picked up. You can either proceed to spam the m1 button (left click) or, if your a pro strategist, proceed to take out your Ascendant Pike and stab the guy in the face
  • PvE:
The Kapro, Is the very first land animal to be able to pick up other animals forcively. It is also the first animal to be able to pick up Dimorphodons, Meganeura, Archeopteryx, and fish. As well as be able to successfully pick up and transport leeches. Be warned however, the game seems to keep the hitbox of the animal where it was in relation to your Kapro whenever you pick it up. If you have the leech at the very edge of your attack range, the leech will not be able to leech onto you. If it is right next to you, (Why are you even that close to a leech anyway?) it will proceed to leech onto you.
  • Taming:
The Kapro drains the stamina of its victims. Use this on a quetz or a tapejara, and suddenly you'll find it much easier to tame the Quetz or Tapejara. Now, if you have played the game long enough, you will realize that Dimorphodons have glitched/msiplaced hitboxes. Well, remember how you can pick up Dimorphodons? Just walked up to one, press C, run away to a safe place to tame it (while running don't press C or m2 again or else it will release the dimorph), proceed to take out a bow or corssbow and then knock it out. The same can go for Raptors, Terror Birds, and other things.
  • Hunting:
Now this one is pretty self explanatory, you just go around and kill things and kill things. It's pretty self explanatory. Just be careful of other Kapros and bigger dinos
  • Player Dismount:
Ever had a guy on your server walk around with a t-rex and chomp on things? Have you ever had that guy "accidently" kill your tame? Well heres some sweet, sweet revenge! Proceed to stalk your target. Once he is going to be or is next to a ridge, use your leaps to quickly get to the top of that ridge. You could then either fall off and just press C while falling at the right time to pick him/her up off of his T-Rex or you could m2 if the ridge is level with your target. Once you have him, get to a river and swim away asap. While doing so you could either knock him out with tranq darts or an Electrical prod, OR proceed to just do the Old Fashion way of things and Pike him/her to death!
  • Underwater Mount:
What's this? A swamp creature is a semi-decent underwater mount? Who could've guessed that? Well, there are a few reasons why the Kapro is only a semi-decent water mount. The Kapro will automatically start floating to the top of the water, which could be a bad thing if you are looking for stealth. A neat thing is that all of the abilities are all accessable under water. Meaning, you can leap and pick players off there precious Megalodons and Icthys. Then proceed to bite/pike them til they drown/die. However, they are slower than Icthys and have terrible Vertical Mobility while in the ocean.

I hope you enjoyed this and learned much about the new Kapro that was added to ark! Have a fun and nice day taming your very own Kaprosuchus!

Um the name of this guide was mis-leading, I read "Everything you need to know about the Kaprosuchus" but this guide said little to nothing about dealing with wild ones, like ones you don't want or can't tame, I want to know how to deal with them due to me wanting a Beelzebufo.
