The Rise and Fall of Religions (Herakleios Submod)

Important: You need this submod AND the Texture mod to make it work.





Hi all,

In real life I’m a history teacher, that’s one of the reasons why I like the total war series so much.

Why did i make this mod?
After the turmoil following the Fall of Rome Christianity seemed to become the dominant religion in the area around the Mediterranean, until the rise of a new religion, Islam. I really like to think about what could have happened and how the world we know could have been changed forever. I wanted to make a mod about the Rise of the Islam, while i was bizzy doing that the team of Herakleios beat me to it. I really liked the mod they made and it was would futile to try to make a better one. Still with all my idea's i decided to make a submod of their mod instead.

Already thanks for trying out my mod, I hope to improve my mod, so any feedback is welcome.


What does this mod do?
This mod does a few things:
- It adds Buddism as a new Religion in the east
- It alters the Islamic Caliphate of Rashidun faction, making into a more desert/expansionist faction: added many desert bonusses and loot bonus, but i removed the 50% reduced upkeep for their units, to give the faction a real challenge. Much more fun to play as the Caliphate now, easy to expand in the desert, difficult outside 'Islam was spread as far as the Camels went'
- Tweaked some other factions, for sample, gave the Singh a 30 food bonus a province, because they were starving at start, but to compenensate reduced their upkeep reduction. They also start with the Buddhist religion.
- Changed local traditions
- Better bonus from religion, choosing a religion matters more.
- Religion now gives negative or positive relation depending on the religion of the other faction


Know issues:
- Sometimes you still see Semitic pagan instead of Buddhism, working on that.
- Maygar faction does not have a working family tree



Compatibility
Probably compatible to the mods the main Herakleios mod is compatible with: mods that doesn’t change starting pos. like turns per years mods. Not save game compatible

This is only a submod from a fan of that great mod! Unfortunally their mod is removed from steam, so i can't link it... :(
