who is the Medic?
The medic is a person who .... heals. The Medic hails from Stuttgart, Germany, however some say he also hails from Rottenberg, Germany. He has a pet dove Named Archimedies, who is named after a famous Greek Engineer, Inventor, and Astronomer. He has a stock loadout containting The Medigun, The Bonesaw, and The Syringe Gun. While The Medic is a healer, his weapons are viable for combat if the medic in question is skilled enough. At a Base speed of 107% and base health at 150. The Medic can also heal another class to gain speed (ex. a Scout.) This originally was only avalible for the Quickfix, untill a buff was given (see Weapons, Secondary for more detail on this subject.) Unlike most classes, the Medic has a stock health regen rate at hp per second, and then slowly increasing up to 6 hp per second.
Weapons, Primary
The stock syringe gun is pretty weak. Only at a base damage of 10 and crit damage of 30. This is a reason why the medic is not (normally) fighting. The syringe gun also has an arch on the syringes. The syringe gun has 40 ammo carried in a "clip" and 150 reserve ammo.

Next is the blutsauger. With the same damage, and same crit damage, the blutsauger gives 3 Hit Points to the user. However, this weapon only has a max Regen of health of 1/sec for the medic.

Next is the overdose. Based on Ubercharge, the medic gains a speed buff, up to 20% (only when active). However, 15% of base damage is taken away. Only at 9 base damage, and 27 crit damage, This weapon is good for getting to the front line faster to heal.

Lastly the Crusader's crossbow. This weapon can heal teammates upon hit, but also damage opponets upon hit. At a base damage of 38-75 (depending on range) and a crit damage of 133-225, and healing 75-100 damage. (depending on range.) This weapon has less arch, but cannot headshot, and has -75% max ammo, and can only fire 1 bolt at a time. It has 1 ammo carried in a "clip" and 38 reserve.
Weapons, Secondary
The Stock Medigun, is in my opinion, is the best.
If you heal a teammate (or spy) that was damaged under 10 seconds from when you applied the beam, you will heal at a base rate of 24 HP/ sec. During the 10-15 second ratio, you will gradually heal from 24/s to 72/s. This also applies to fresh spawns. Uber fills at 2.5%/s. The maximum amount of time it takes to fully charge the uber meter is about 40 seconds. Uber, when filled to 100%, gives invulnirability for 8 seconds.

Next is the Kritzkreig.
The kritzkreig is identical to the stock medigun, however with some key diffrences.
Instead of uber filling at 2.5%/s it fills at 3%/s. The Uber, instead of giving invulnerability, it gives 100% critical hits upon Uber pop.

Next is the quickfix. The quick fix used to be the most unqiue medigun in the game.
The quickfix used to be able to let you match the speed of the healing target. However, all mediguns are now able to do this. The quick fix heals 40% faster, Builds uber 10% faster, and also lets you blast jump with soldiers and demomen. However, there is 50% less overheal on teammates, and while uber is active, you cannot carry the intel. Uber is also different here. Uber grants 3x heal rate on you and your teammate, and also grants immunity to stunning, and damage forces (sandman ball etc).

finally is the vaccinator. The vaccinator grants 10% resistance to certain damage sources when healing. (explosive, bullets, fire,) Uber is charged 67% faster, however if you overheal a teammate, it is cut by 33%. Overheal is 66% less on teammates. Ubercharge is broken into 4 pieces, and those each provide a 2.5 second bubble where you'll have a 75% resistance to your selected damage source, and also 100% crit resistance.
Weapons, Melee
The Melee weapons of Medic are some of the most versatile melees in the game.

The stock melee for medic does a base of 65 damage, with 195 crit damage (talk about a crazy doctor!)
mostly a good option for defense. it's very balanced for combat as well!

The Ubersaw is mostly used in comp. play and for good reason too!

when you hit an enemey with the ubersaw, you will gain 25% uber charge!
however, with the very very small downsie of 20% slower swing rate.

The Vitasaw is like the opposite of the ubersaw.

When you die, you retain 20% of your ubercharge.
however, when equipped, you have 10 less max HP.
alot of people hate the vitasaw for this reason, and i agree.

The amputator,is in my opinion is the best.

When you taunt you can heal 25 hp teammates that are nearby (for 4 seconds, adding up to 75 hp per taunt.). with an added bonus of 3 more HP regenerated per a second! However you do 20% less damage, which is not alot if you think about it. 52 base, and 156 crit.

lastly is the solem Vow.
This weapon allows you to see the HP of your opponet. However with 20% less swing rate. This weapon is not very good in terms of combat. I suggest using one of the others.
Healer play
When playing as medic, the first strategy to try when playing medic is the basic healer. The strategy is simple pocket a heavy Heal everyone thats been hurt. little boo boo? Overheal. Giant gaping hole and nearly dead? GTFO of there! Heal.

the best loadout to use when being the jesus of your team is as follows

Crusaders crossbow

Medigun

Amputator

the medigun give regular uber, letting you push throught sentries

the amputator not only provides a passive buff you to but to your team mates when taunting!

and the cross bow heals, while also giving damage to attackers
Battle Medic
Battle medic is very simple : KILL ALL THAT LIVE.

The basic strategy is this: KILL THEM ALL AHAHAHHAHAHAHAH- *cough cough*

the loadout(s) most used by battle medics are as follows

Blutsauger

Medigun

ubersaw

The butsauger give health FOR DAMAGE DELT. Do you know how fast it fires? not that fast

the medigun is for stickybuddy situations.

and the uber saw is- the uber sa- KILL THEM ALL AHHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!

but there is also another loadout

crossbow

vaccinator

amputator

This loadout is useful because you not only can fight, but also heal.
Do's and don'ts
As a medic you have basic responsibilty. If you can't handle these things, you are a bad medic.

DO: Heal everybody. Nobody likes a pocket medic. Especially scouts.

DON'T: Pocket somebody, wheather it's a soldier, or a heavy.

DO: use stock or kritzkreig durring Mann VS machine. This helps people stay alive longer, or kill more.

DON'T: Use the vaccinator durring MVM. Unless you're good at the vacc, stick to stock.

DO: Help your teamates if they're getting hurt.

DON'T: run away from battle

DO: Focus on healing.

DON'T: Be a battle medic. (unless you're really good.)
Fun Facts
- The medic is the only class that can heal naturally with stock loadout (excluding the engineer since he can build dispensers.)

- The medic has the longest range on melee (talk about a long shot)

- when a scout is killed, there is a small chance that a dove will fly out of his torso. This is a refrence to the Meet the medic video where Archimedies is shown being trapped mistakenly inside scout's torso.

- The medic can bring people back from the dead (read comic #6)

-The quick fix is a broken prototype medigun medigun. This is shown in the Meet the Medic video.

-the medigun heals with a mix of jarate, a medkit, a pool of blood, and a sandvich.

I actually really like this guide, if I had to add anything it would probably be about which classes to prioritize healing(like a class that's on the front line taking all the damage like a heavy, or someone who's on fire). I'd also emphasize on timing your uber and positioning during maps but that's extra. Cool guide

Zis guide iz .....nize. But the amputator whit the stock medigun is pretty stupid. When you play offense, your Primary obyective is to build uber for push, so the ubersow can help more that he amputator. Owever, is ridicously good whit the quick fix, couse in defense is the greatest option

@dispenstryporter A broken prototype*. sorry aout that.
Dispentryporter Jan 20, 2017 @ 12:17am
Some of the fun facts are wrong. The quick-fix isn't a broken medigun, it's a prototype medigun made before the stock one and meet the medic takes place before the creation ofnthe stock medigun. Medic is also not the only character who can heal with the stock loadout, engi can too with his dispenser.
