Weapons Attachment Preference (NOT FINISHED)
By tkhanh11
I have play rust mainly for the PVP most of the time and even though i am not experienced in the field of weapons,I created this guide to teach the new players aboutthe best weapons attachment out there they think it best fit in. Now some of these opinions may be wrong, but constructive feedback is always appreciated.

(THIS GUIDE IS NOT FINISHED, NOT ALL GUNS ARE IN THE LIST YET)

P250 (Semi-Automatic Pistol)
Pros:
- Deals good damage
- Material effeciency
- Decent rate of fire
- Little flash
-Good weapon to compete agaisnt higher tier class if being used effectively (at CQC (close range) & MQC (medium range)

Cons:
- Terrible at far range (which means higher range weapons will dominate it, espeically AK, Bolty and Semi auto rifle).
- Bullet inconsistency
- Tiny ironsight (which is pretty hard to aim at far range for me personally)
- fairly low ammo capacity
- When shooting at far range, bullets can be travel horizontally off & away from the target.

Prefered attachments:

Personally i prefered this because:

- Its stealthy, and once hit the enemy, they will either panic and try to find you, or just run away.
- Limit sound, which will not raise the attention for higher tiers players in local range.
- A realiable attachment to roam with p250.
- Makes P2 slightly more controlable for its recoil

However it is not effective in case of:
- Limited Geographical condition, especially in open field, where there are no objects for you to hide. This means it strongly requires to you to stick with places such as forests, bushes, etc.
- Ironsight is blocked by the suppresor, which makes it even harder to aim (but since p250 is not very constant to compete at far range, why bother compete agaisnt them?).
- Lowers the damage a little bit.
- NOT appropriate for raiding sittuations, i DO NOT recommend using this while raiding since you are highly exposed.
Thommy Boi (Thompson)
ALWAYS USE HOLOSIGHT FOR THIS GUN

Pros:
- High rate of fire
- Deals fairly high damage
- Good recoil control
- Dominant at close range combat
- Decent bullet capacity for a rifle

Cons:
- Very limited ironsight. (one of the thompson's biggest cons imo)
- Gun flash makes it hard to see while shooting
- Bullet drops (even though it drops longer than SMG, it can't compete range agaisnt AK or even Bolty).
- Loud noise (draws attention)

Prefered Attachment 1:

Why is this the best attachment so far?
- From my experience, this gun is extremely accurate and Mid range and Closerange, and even more deadly when it is silenced.
- At mid range, I treat it like a semi auto rifle, which confuses most of the enemy that I usually killed since it so silenced. Becarefull for the bullet trails though, dont let them detect where you are.
- It is appropriate for close quarter combat as well, but won't be as effective.
- It endorse bullet effeciency, so you dont have to waste your time making bullet when you got back to your base.
- It hides the flash from the gun barrel, so you can see exactly what the enemy is doing while shooting.

What are the constructive side of this?
- Well, like i said, not as effective in close range combat, but still kills.
- Low rate of fire at mid - far range, dont treat it like a M249 espcially with silencers.
- Its not a RATATATATA gun with this attachment, stealth purpose mainly (if you want to go RATATATA, then might as well pull off those silencers...)
- Only appropriate for roaming purpose, not raiding.

Prefered Attachment 2:

Why i choose this?
- Let's be Honest here, I actually think the Muzzle Boost doesn't make any big difference since the Thommy rate of fire has been patched, but if you are likely to have one, use it on the thommy since those split seconds difference of bullet rate can make a strong decision between life and death.

- In addition, thommy's recoil is easy to control (for me), so why waste your Muzzle boost attachment in that chest by the corner? Use it!

Why would i not prefer the muzzle boostover the silencer?

- I choose the Muzzle boost as my secondary preference, because it draws ALOT of attention for loud thommy sound.

- It waste alot of bullet (especially for people like me who doesn't want to waste bullets) and some of the bullets will not go anywhere when spraying. Its flash is extremely annoying and you might just as well tap shot instead of spraying with that thing.

- Thommy reloading speed might take a while so you better preserve those bullets in your mag while in a firefight.
Pump Shotgun
Pros:
- High damage at close range
- Can use variety of shells
- Bullet spread, no accuracy skills required
- Easy to use
- Good ammo capacity for a shotgun

Cons:

- Terrible at long range
- Deals little damage at mid range (depends on the shells)

Although I prefer not to add any attachments to the pump shotgun, these will be the attachments if i have to use it.

Why did I choose it?
- Doesn't draw alot of attentioin
- For how deadly it is at close range, might as well add a silencer to confuse the enemy when you shoot them.
- Its a good roaming and flanking weapon.

What are the cons of this?'
- Silencer It is not appropriate for raiding sittuations, since you are highly exposed (unless you want to go deep, then this might as well be a decent choice).
Bolty (Bolt Action Rifle)
Pros:
- Dominant at long range combat
- Deals fairly good damage
- Bullet takes longer time to drop
- Accurate

Cons
- Has the lowest rate of fire among the other guns
- Best used as a camping weapon
- Demand high accuracy and precision aiming

NOTICE:
- Ironsight can really depends on how people feel like when using it,there are no cons and pros here, it is based on perspective. (thought i prefer the old iron sight since it is big and it helps me to coordinate my crosshair more effectively.)
- 4x Scopes is best used passively in a fight

Oh yes lilian you have a great point. I would prefer no attachment on pistol at all relistically speaking (beside flashlight). But then this guide is about attachment preference, so something must be added (and my selection is silencer) instead of muzzle boost or muzzle flash for p2.

Muzzle boost has a ~12% damage penalty and it's not that great at medium distance. Silencers are quite useless due to the fact that they reduce 20% of the damage and also the bullet velocity. Using a silencer is mostly for rifles in CQB , otherwise you're going to get dominated.
Besides the pistol and shotgun , your choices might be viable , but not the best (statisticaly).
Nice try tho'. :emocompy:

Sad to see people bashing on you SUCC, especially people like Oswald, typical twelvie that doesn't know the difference between your and you're yet, haha. Overall, a good and proffesional made guide.

Good job! :)
