Introduction
Hey guys,

Today I have a sweet guide for you all about the new Rumble game mode that rolled out yesterday on Rocket League!

The 'Rumble' game mode is essentially a standard 3v3 game, but with 11 awesome power-ups that you randomly collect every 10 seconds!

The power-ups are as follows:
  • Disruptor
  • Freezer
  • Haymaker
  • Grappling Hook
  • Magnetizer
  • Plunger
  • Power Hitter
  • Spike
  • Swapper
  • The Boot
  • Tornado
This guide will go in depth about the different types of power-ups and how to use them efficiently. I hope you enjoy!

Disruptor
The Disruptor is a power-up that you can shoot at your opponent's battle-cars, with a guaranteed hit. When they are hit, they are forced to drive uncontrollably for a few seconds. They are not able to slow down or stop completely, but can still drift. This is very useful for both defense and offense, as you can make the opponents lose control in either situation, leading to them not being able to make a save or take a shot.

However, one downside to this power-up is the fact that after the opponent gains back control, they immediately resume with 100% boost, no matter what amount they had before. This could lead you to actually giving them boost instead of harming them.

You should also choose your targets wisely. If a player is in the back, and not really doing anything, there is little point in shooting them with the Disruptor. It is best to hit players who are close to making a play, or possibly a clear or a center.

Freezer
The Freezer is a power-up that allows you to freeze the ball, wherever it is, for a few seconds. The ball will appear to be frozen in ice, and melt after a few seconds if nobody touches it. This means that if you freeze a ball while it is in the air, it will remain frozen in the air for a few seconds, and if nobody touches it, it will fall back to the ground with normal gravity, and lose momentum that it might have had previously.

This power-up is useful in a variety of circumstances. For example, if the ball is about to be centered into your zone or the ball is shot on your net, you can freeze the ball to stop the momentum, and give you and your teammates a chance to knock it out of the way. Another use for this power-up is for aerial shots. If the ball is high in the sky, near the opponent's net, you may want to freeze the ball to allow you to make an easier aerial shot on the net and possibly score. This power-up is also useful for deking the opponents. If your opponent predicts the ball will be in a certain place, judging by its speed, they will travel to where they think it will go. However, if you freeze it, the ball will stop, and the opponent might drive past the ball, allowing you to take a clear shot.

Haymaker
The Haymaker is a simple, yet very effective power-up. It is a boxing glove, that when activated, will punch the ball with a ton of power. The Haymaker is mostly useful for defense, as you can easily clear or save a ball by punching it. However, it is a bit difficult to score with the Haymaker, as you would need a straight shot, because the Haymaker cannot hit the ball sideways or on an angle.

It is important to make sure when using the Haymaker that you do not hit the ball over to your side, as it is very possible you might accidentally score on your own net this way (It has happened to me a few times XD)

Grappling Hook
The grappling hook is a power-up that, once activated, will drag your battle-car directly towards the ball until your car hits the ball. This also means if the ball is in the air, the player will lift from the ground into the air to hit the ball. This power-up is very useful for offence, as you can use the grappling hook as a boost or a way to guarantee hitting the ball. The downside to using it for defense, however, is it is likely you may accidentally hit the ball into your own goal if the ball is close to the net.

Magnetizer
The Magnetizer is a power-up that, once activated, will magnetize the ball towards you, and will follow you as you drive. This power-up lasts for about 5 seconds. It is mostly useful for offense as you can drag the ball straight into the opponent's net. You can also use the magnet to take the ball away from your side of the map, and possibly center in the opponent's zone. There aren't really too many other uses for this power-up, other than possibly redirecting the ball with the magnet.

Plunger
The Plunger is a simple power-up that shoots a plunger, which will pull the ball towards your direction. It can be used in a variety of circumstances. For example, if you wanted to take the ball away from your net or zone, you can use the plunger to pull it away. Also, you can use the plunger to pull the ball into the net if you are closer to the net than the ball is. Again, like the Grappling hook, you should be aware of the position of the ball relative to your position to make sure the ball goes where you want it to go (not into your net).

Power Hitter
The Power Hitter is another simple power-up that, once activated, gives you strength, meaning when you strike the ball it will be with more force for about 10 seconds. Additionally, whenever you touch an opponent, you will immediately destroy them, whether or not you were travelling at supersonic speed or not. This is useful for both defense and offense, as you can destroy enemies in your zone with ease, and clear the ball very quickly. You can also score the ball easier with this power-up, and you can destroy opponents for your friend to make a more clear shot as well.

Spike
The Spike is a power-up that, once activated, your battle car will grow spikes for around 10 seconds. This means that when the ball comes into contact with your car, the car will stick onto the ball, like Velcro. This allows you to drive into the opponent's net with ease. The only way to separate the ball with the player is to physically hit the ball away (Plungers, Magnetizers, the Haymaker, and The Boot do not work). It is recommended, when you are scoring in the opponent's net, that you fly in if you have boost. This will make it a lot harder to hit the ball away from you. You can also use the Spike for defense on occasion, as the ball will stick to you, so there is no worry about hitting the ball into your net by accident (unless you drive into your net).

Swapper
The Swapper is a unique power-up, that once activated, will allow you to swap positions with an opponent that you choose. This is most useful for getting closer to either your zone or your opponent's zone. If your opponent is about to make a shot or a save, you can also swap with them, just make sure that once you swap you get out of the way, as you might accidentally make the shot or save.

The boot
The Boot is a quick but useful power-up, that once activated, will kick an opponent of your choice away with a ton of power, similar to the Haymaker. This power-up is particularly useful if a player is trying to save a shot or make a shot on your net. By using The Boot, they are completely out of play for a few seconds, buying you some time to clear or shoot the ball.

Tornado
The final power-up on the list is the Tornado. The Tornado is a power-up, that once activated, summons a tornado above your battle-car to sweep up the ball and other players into a giant whirlwind for about 5 seconds. This power-up is particularly useful for carrying the ball to the opponent's zone, as the Tornado will make it hard for opponents to reach your battle-car or the ball. It can also be used for defense as the Tornado will shift the ball around, making it harder for the opposition to accurately shoot it at your net.

It is worth noting that Spike can't be denied by Haymaker. It could also be worth noting what power-ups counter each other. Either way, good guide!
