Description
Nightmare is the 5th difficulty level and one step above expert (contains realism aswell).

Things that have been changed:

-non headshots deal less damage
-nearly all infected have sligtly increased health
-the tank has now 12000 hp instead of 8000
-commons deal 30 damage from the front and 24 damage from the back
-friendlyfire is 2x more dangerous (now you really have to be careful with guns and fire)
-most infected are sligtly faster
-some other small changes that are not worth writing them down seperately

The other addon that combines all new difficulty levels is balanced better and behaves more like an actual difficulty level.

I guess it's a bit above my level but I would encourage other people to try it. To me it really is more of a mutational gameplay than a higher difficulty. I get to move tactically and feel every bit of the map, not just the sudden spikes to test my quick reaction.

I enjoy this mod, with it everything becomes a struggle, one wrong move like shooting the wrong car can fail your whole team. It's just so consequential. You'd value every piece of resources you got and be wise about when to use them. The game also becomes more slow-paced because you really got to stay with your team and be at a good spot when the horde came (besides almost everything took "slightly" longer to kill.) It really altered the whole experience, and sometimes the gameplay and balance. If played on an already challenging map it can be unfairly difficult, horde with tank is basically unbeatable for me, endless hordes and some rescue levels are no better, you're gonna eventually make it but only after so many tries and got lucky once.

Not sure if you're still supporting this or if you'd even have any ideas of how to help, but I really love playing nightmare realism except I noticed that panic events (such as endless hordes in cold stream 2 for example) don't work. I'd really appreciate if you had any ideas how I could fix this!

Yes. However I made another addon that makes it not a mutation.

Can anyone explain what's the difference between this and this mod {LINK REMOVED} They both appear to have "Nightmare Mode" but overall, this series of mods (Difficulty levels beyond expert Collection) at least have a description.

Yeah... You need spawn l4d1 survivor addon for average player if you want to survive...
