Getting Your Pets!
First, you need to decide how you are going to get your pets. You can either, make one in the character making bit, or you can adopt one. Before getting one make sure you have all the essentials.(i will talk about that later) You will also get a bigger responsibilty because if you dont take good care of your pets it will be took away. (tip: If you get too many and one has to be taken away all the pets in your active household will be taken too)
keeping them happy!
DOG:

To keep your dog/puppy happy you need the following items:
bed, food bowl, chew toys, a ball.
your sims must fill the food bowl for a small price now and again when it gets empty, if it is not filled your pet will get hungry. You also have to play with your dog and build a relationship with them otherwise they get taken away!

CAT:

To kepp your cat/kitten happy you need the following items:
bed, food bowl, toys, a cat scratching post
now and again you scratching post will break and you will have to replace it. Remember to fill their bowl and build a relationship or they will be took away.

HORSE:

To keep your horse/foal happy you need the following items:
A water trough, hay, a box stall, a lot of space, a big ball.
When you get the hay you need to make your sim get some of it off for your horse by clicking on it.
Sometimes you need to clean you horse's hooves by clicking on your horse. Remember to feed them and build a good relationship with them or they will be took away!

When i mean took away, these sims (aka sim counsil) come and take all the pets in your active household. When this happens, You are not allowed to get more pets for a long period of time as you can not be trusted with them and all the sims in your active household will go into a state of depression for a while over losing their pets. Also, if your pet had anything in their iventory, such as if they are a hunter (Cats) or a scavenger (dogs). If they had any sort of artifacts or animals such as beetles on them they will be taken with the animals and you will lose these items unless you take them off of your pet before it gets taken away.

this is good. My only problem is the "took away" part.

Horses don't really need hay if the sim has a big backyard of grass the horse can graze. P.S. good guide!

make sure you also have a litter box for cats. you dont need one, but i recomend having one, because it bulids you cats neat trait,(if they dont have it, they will eventually learn it) and it just makes so your cat might not pee inside.
