Gmod Chat Emotes

Gmod Emotes is a chat plugin aimed at adding chat emotes (like those in various MMO games) to Garry's Mod.

Chat emotes can be done by typing things like "/wave" or "/dance" in the chat. You can target another player (or something else) by entering their name at the end of an emote, for example "/dance Kleiner", if you want to dance with Kleiner. You can also target players by looking at them while you type an emote command. Some emotes (like wave and dance) will make your character perform the matching act animation.

If the emote you are looking for doesn't exist, you can do a custom emote with the /e command, for example "/e is writing a description." (which in my case would say: "Michielbos is writing a description.")

The addon can be tweaked with the following console variables:

Server:
emotes_prefix -The prefix that should be used for emote commands ('/' by default). This lets the server owner change the prefix in case it collides with another addon.
emotes_allow_custom -When set to 0, players can no longer use the /e command for custom emotes.

Client:
emotes_enable_acting -When set to 0, your character will not perform act animation on emotes that use them.
emotes_gender -This can be set to 'M' or 'F' to specify your gender, which makes emotes refer to you as "him" or "her", rather than "them".
emotes_use_look_target -When set to 0, you will not target players you are looking at when entering an emote command.
