Introduction
Hello everybody! My name is Landeyx and welcome to another guide! Whilst Buttstaber and me are working on The History Of TF2, I decided to make this guide!
Enjoy!
The Stickybomb Launcher

We start off the list with a stock weapon! The stickybomb launcher received many nerfs throughout the years. However, it got a really big one during the Love And War update. The stickybomb launcher got a 2 second damage ramp-up (which means that it takes two seconds before it would be able to do it's full damage). The community didn't like this at all, and a week later, the nerf was undone. Today, the sticky launcher is mostly used for spawncamping. We all know that feeling.
In my eyes, the stickybomb launcher is pretty OP, even better than the rocket launcher. I think they should keep it like it is, since I don't see that many people using it anymore, only for spawncamping.
The Short Circuit

Next on the list is the short circuit! Yes, recently, it was one of the most OP weapons in TF2 History. Why? Because it caused players to lag! When shooting with the short circuit, players would receive an insane ammount of lag. Thanks to this, they could barely move! Using this exploit players could also get in spawns.
However, there was another time when the short circuit was OP, and not thanks to an exploit.
Once, the short circuit costed almost nothing to fire from your metal, and it was shooting fast as ♥♥♥♥. Demomen and soldiers threatening your buildings? WITH PROJECTILES?
Just shoot in the air, and it's guaranteed that the biggest threats to your sentry are immediately destroyed.

The Pomson 6000

As an engineer, you need to defend your nest from everything that would form a danger to your sentry. You can go in and punch them OR you could've just used the Pomson and penetrate enemies with your infinite ammo, which drains 10% of a medic's ubercharge and 20% of a spy's cloak. Later, they nerfed it, but at the time, this was one of the most OP weapons out there.

The Dead Ringer

The spy has low HP, didn't run as fast as now, and can get killed by splash damage of a soldier.
What could counter all this? The dead ringer, of course! Enemies feared every spy, you had to assume that every dead spy would be a dead ringered one! No bump shimmering! 90% protection from hits when it's deployed! CHARGES 80% FASTER! Only downside? When deployed you can't attack? It takes a second to deploy it and otherwise, so that didn't form any problem! This was THE watch used by all of the spies! After the Smissmas 2014 update there was a bug for some people, that a spy would get a glitched body if he would be dead ringered, well the corpse of that supposed dead spy. This helped people to saw this to know that the spy was dead-ringered.
The Gunmettle update brought a nerf in. Nowadays, you have 25% chance that the spy you just killed was a dead-ringered one, or less.

The Phlogistinator

Reddit Image

The darkest days in The History Of TF2 were the days when the phlog got a buff, and not a lil' one.
The community screamed for a nerf before the Tough Break update. Now that the DR was taken care off, the phlog was one of the last weapons which should get a nerf. Instead, Valve gave it a buff. The 10% damage penalty was removed. When activating the MMMPH ability, the pyro would become invulnerable, could not be knocked back, regain all his lost hp and gain temporary crits. There were people with killstreaks of 43 kills. The day when the phlog got a real nerf, was when the community cried of happiness.

you should have had The Equalizer before it was split into 2 weapons in here because that was an OP as hell weapon.

Mainly old pubs I discussed here, I use the stickybomb launcher myself in casual and competitive

Boy, A LOT more demomen use the sticky launcher more than you think, and it's not just for spawncamping. They spam it for direct combat to compoensate for their shitty aim with the grenade launcher and skill at the game. Pair it with the Eyelander and you can blast yourself anywhere and get out without much toruble.

make a "honorable mentions" with tide turner, loch n load, backburner, enforcer and many more
Zurkov Oct 6, 2016 @ 7:44am
The Backburner was really, really OP when it first came out. Gave the Pyro +50 HP. 225 health W+M1 Pyroes were unbelievably scary, especially with a Medic.
