How 2 Police Chase

This Simple guide will show you how to very simply and easily create your own simple police chase. Simply.

Setting Up

To first get a police chase ready, you will need the AI Controller App. This can be enabled by going into the in-game screenside menu's 'Apps' button. From here, select the 'Add app' button, then select the 'AIControl' app, and put it on your screen. Then, click the checkmark button.

Being a Cop

To be a cop, one must first get a car to chase. Simply spawn in any car you like, and while driving said car, go to your AIControl and enable 'Flee' mode. This is all you must do. After enabling this, the car will automatically follow roads, and change its speed. Now go to the 'Vehicle' button on your Screen-side menu and spawn a new car, preferably a Police vehicle. The now-AI Controlled Perp car will run from you, ready for you to chase.

Being a Criminal

To be a criminal, first spawn in a Police car. Then, with your AIControl, set it to 'Chase'. Then spawn in your very own Perpmobile. The police car will now begin to chase you.

Setting Up AI Chases

To set up a chase between two AI Vehicles, first spawn in two cars, one for the Perp, the other for the cop. Then, set the AI for the Perp car to 'Flee', and Manually set the Obj Target to the Police Car. Then, Set the AI for the Police car to 'Chase', and set the Obj Target to the Perp car.

Chases Between 3 or More Vehicles

So, you my find yourself asking: 'but what do I do if I want to have multiple cars chasing the same vehicle?'
The answer to this is simple. Using the steps previously mentioned in the above section, simply spawn in one chase vehicle and as many police vehicles as you'd like.
Then, set all of the police vehicles' Obj Targets to the chase vehicle.

However, due Beam.NG's AI control, the chase vehicle may not flee from all of the police cars. This can be fixed by just setting the car's AI to flee without setting an Obj Target. Now, the chase vehicle will flee from every car it registers instead of just one.

This setting also applies to you being a cop or criminal, just simply do not add a flee AI to the chase vehicle and control it yourself, or do not add AI to a police car and drive as part of the police fleet.

Order of Setup

Due to the way Beam.NG's AI works, you will need to set up the AI for you cars in a certain order. This is to avoid police cars ramming into you perp vehicle before you've even finished setting up!

Order:
1. The perp car. The perp car/chase vehicle is always the first one you set up, as this will give the car time to get away from your police cars before they begin the chase. If you want to be the perp, than simply drive a short distance away from the police car(s) before setting up their AI. This should give you enough time to set up all the police cars before they begin their case. The more cops, the more distance!

2. The Police Cars. The police cars are always second in the setup order, as the perp car needs time to put some distance in between it and the police. If you want to be the police, and there are no other police cars in your chase, then simply ignore this step.
