How to disable steam notifications from friends

Hello guys, In this guide I show you how to disable steam notifications, at least from friends. Many people don't know it, yet it's often a lifesaver ingame.

With this "trick" you won't get notifications from

• a friend coming online
  
• a friend starting a game
  
• a friend writing you a message

However, you will still get these

• Friend calling (with ringing sound)
  
• Friend sending trade invite
  
• Friend sending invite to game lobby
  
• Group announcements/events

As you can see, you can get rid off the majority of the notications that you mostly get normally. If you want to get rid off group announcement/event notification, you can simply leave the group.

So with this guide your radar will NOT get blocked in csgo which is annoying af. If u don't use this you are silver4ever.

How to do it (video tutorial below)

• Go into steam
  
• in the upper left corner, press steam
  
• Press settings
  
• on the left side, press friends
  
• At notifications & sounds, remove all the ticks
  
• Flash window when i recieve a message > Never
  
• press ok
  
• u done m8

KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU WILL NOT GET INTERRUPTED IN GAME, HOWEVER YOU MIGHT MISS MESSAGES WITH THIS. CHECK YOUR STEAM OVERLAY EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE e.g IN FREEZE TIME, WHEN YOU ARE DEAD, OR WHEN YOU HAVE SIMPLY NOTHING TO DO.

A friend annoys you with calls/trade invites/game invites ?

There is a simple fix to that.

• tell him to stop and that you are in a competitive Match, if he doesnt stop
  
• delete him
  
• block him
  
• do both

OR, you can open your friends list, rightclick on yourself, press "offline". That way everyone will see you as offline(duh), so you won't get interrupted (except by groups, but you can leave groups).
